Walking into the pub in downtown Dublin, Colby followed closely behind Rebecca with his hand in hers as she walked towards the group of people in the back corner booth.
Today was a special day, Rebecca would be meeting with friends she hadn't seen in a long time... she would also be introducing Colby to the people she hung out with her whole childhood.
"BECKS!" A blonde woman exclaimed as she stood up from the booth and immediately embraced Rebecca and Colby let go of her hand almost instantly to let her say her proper hellos to the group of people
"Hi Nina" Rebecca smiled as she let go of the blonde "Colby this is Nina.." She motioned her fiancé forward with her hand and he shook the young woman's
"You said cute Rebecca.." Nina nodded as she looked Colby up and down "You suck at describing hot people" she said and Rebecca rolled her eyes
"Good job Becks" another woman's voice was heard from the table and Rebecca looked over at her
"Lizzie" Rebecca shook her head "Off-limits," she said
"Hey.. she's in a happily committed relationship" the man sitting next to her stated
"Colton" Rebecca smiled and looked to Colby "Colton and Lizzie have been together for 6 years now" she informed him "Nina is newly single" she pointed to the blonde as they sat down "and Tristan over here just doesn't want a commitment to anyone" she looked at the dark-haired man "Never has" she winked at him
"Becks and I dated for a few years in school" Tristan nodded "and she thinks she knows me better than I know myself"
"I do" Rebecca nodded "which is why we broke up because I knew who he was more than he knew who he was"
"She thinks she knows it all.." Tristan stated
"Nothing has changed I see" Colby looked at Rebecca who glared at him "I'm kidding.." He kissed her head
"So Colby" Nina stated and he looked over at her, "Rebecca said you're a big-time investor.. do you see anything over here in Ireland you'd like to invest in?"
"I've already invested in the best thing Ireland has to offer" he kissed Rebecca's head once more as she leaned into him
"Aww" Nina smiled "That was so sweet"
"Cheesy" Rebecca looked up at him with a smile and his lips met hers "but I love you for it"
"Okay.. can we get drinks before these two make me throw up from the gushy shit" Tristan stated and the group laughed as Rebecca stood up
"Come with me?" She looked to Nina and Lizzie and the two other women stood up to walk with her towards the bar "Jack and diet?" She looked at Colby
"Water," he said and her eyes widened
"You can drink Colby," she said and he shook his head
"You're not drinking, I'm not drinking," he said and she rolled her eyes, she wasn't going to argue with him because she knew it was going to get her nowhere
"You're not drinking?" Colby heard Lizzie ask as he watched the women walk towards the bar
"Why is it every time we come out as a group somebody is always here to cause trouble?" Colby heard Colton ask and he turned to look at him and then followed where his eyes went
There stood against the bar was a man, in a suit.. dark hair, tan, and muscles that were almost too big for his shirt.. and he was staring a hole right through Rebecca.
"Who is that?" Colby asked
"That.. is Nick" Tristan stated coldly
"Nick.. nick as in.." Colby trailed off
"The ex-boyfriend that beat the shit out of her for years?" Colton questioned and Colby's eyes met his
"That's the guy that left her for dead.." Colby said
"More than once, he beat the shit out of her on multiple occasions and he's never forgiven her for having him arrested for it," Tristan said and they watched Colby stand up and walk towards the bar "WE are so getting kicked out of here.." Tristan shook his head "Hope you enjoyed the drink you had" he looked to Colton who rolled his eyes
Rebecca felt a hand on her lower back and looked behind her to see Colby standing there, trying to discreetly push her towards the exit.. he was trying to put distance between her and something.
"What?" She asked as she looked up at him and she could see the look in his eyes "What is it?" She looked around confused
"Have you been gone that long that you actually forgot what I look like?" She heard a man's voice and a chill ran down her spine and she looked around Colby to see who was speaking and her grip on Colby's shirt became tighter when she realized
"Nick.." She said in barely a whisper
"Becks" he smiled "Looking as beautiful as ever" he nodded
"Come on.." Colby said trying to push her towards the exit
"She can speak to friends if she wants mate" Nick stated and Colby rolled his eyes
"Colby.." Rebecca said quietly as she now tried to pull him away and she looked back and Colton and Tristan with pleading eyes
"Come on Colby.. let's go somewhere else," Tristan said as he put a hand on Colby's shoulder and Colton got the girls out of the dangerous situation and pushed them towards the door
"She's always been a hot piece.." Nick stated "Just a piece of advice.." He said and Could feel his blood boiling "Don't let her get her claws in too deep.. she'll take everything from you in a second and then play the victim"
"I'm not worried about her" Colby shook his head "Keep her name out of your mouth" he seethed "because I really don't want to spend the night in Dublin City jail for beating the shit outta you, but I will," he said
"Colby!" He heard and he looked over at the group of women standing next to the door and he watched Rebecca run out of the pub and his attention immediately went from Nick to his fiancée
Colby bolted out the door immediately, he looked around the busy street for her and he couldn't find her.. he walked around for a few seconds before he found her in an empty alleyway.
He walked over to her and grabbed her hair away from her face as she continued to throw up in the trashcan.
"Baby.." He said quietly as he rubbed her back gently and she stood up straight once more and looked up at him and she shook her head "I thought morning sickness was supposed to be gone by 12 weeks" he said and she shook her head
"It has been gone for a week now" she nodded "but apparently your baby didn't like the confrontation you were about to get into and this is how she chose to get you out of it" she said and he smiled slightly as he kissed her head
"He's gonna be quite the handful huh?" He asked and she looked up at him
"Yeah she is" she nodded
