"Do you need food?" Rebecca asked as she watched her husband looking around their hotel room
"I'm fine," he said with a nod as he messed with the curtains on the windows.
"Do you need water? Or soda.. or tea. I can call down to the front desk and see if they can bring up whatever you want."
"It's okay," he said quietly, and she nodded.
She was silent for a few minutes as she watched him. It was dead silent in that room as Rebecca watched her husband looking around the hotel room.
"Do you need..." she started, and he turned to face her
"Stop," he shook his head. "Stop asking if I need things," he said as he took a step toward her
"Sorry," she said as she took one step back, and he froze. "What?" She asked, confused. "What's wrong?"
"You're scared," he said, and she shook her head.
"No, I'm not" she folded her arms across her chest
"You just backed away from me," he said. "You're scared."
"I'm not scared of you" she took a step towards him. "You've never scared me" she took a step closer. "I just don't want to step on your toes," she said
"Baby, I've been in prison for the last three years" he shook his head with a laugh. "I've had my toes stepped on by a lot less attractive people than you, so by all means, go ahead."
"It's my job as your wife to make sure you're okay.. it is my job to make sure you have everything you need."
"I have all that I need right here" he wrapped his arms around her waist, placing a kiss on her head, "Minus two tiny people in a different country."
"We will go home in a few days once your passport gets cleared and you can travel out of the country," she said, and he nodded. "You'll get to see your kids after three and a half years."
"Be honest with me?" He questioned as he pulled away from her and walked over to the bed, sitting on its edge. "Do they even care about me?"
"You're not going to have it easy" she shook her head, and his head dropped. "Sawyer will be a little more accepting once she warms up to you, but she is timid at first, so you've got to win her over" she sat on his lap.
"What about CJ?" He asked
"Chase," Rebecca corrected him quickly, "You've got to work on that" she nodded.
"Chase.." Colby said, "Right, Chase.." He nodded
"I know that was hard for you to hear when I first told you."
"That was probably one of the hardest things to come to terms with.. my son didn't want anything to do with me, he didn't want my name, he wanted no attachment to me, so he changed his name."
"It was something that could have happened at any point in his life, and he could have chosen to change his name regardless if you were there or not"
"He thought I just up and abandoned him. I mean, he's not a little kid anymore; I can't just skate past the fact that I was in prison.. he knows that he understands what that means, and he knows what I did."
"He read that online. That was not me" Rebecca shook her head quickly. "I tried to hide it from him for as long as I could"
"He was bound to find out eventually," Colby shrugged. "He was so little when I first got arrested. His favorite thing was dinosaurs and paw patrol."
"He loves Spiderman now" Rebecca nodded "he loves playing baseball, and he is very into his girlfriend."
"His girlfriend?" Colby's eyes widened
"Her name is Lilly" Rebecca nodded "she's the baseball coach's kid, and they met at school. They're innocent and cute, and every time I see them, he treats her like a princess.. using his allowance he gets from chores to take her on little dates on the weekends or by her ice cream after his baseball games."
"What about Sawyer?" He asked, "What can you tell me about her?"
"What can I tell you about Sawyer.." She thought, "She is the sweetest, most loving, shy little girl you will ever meet," she said, "She loves to draw, paint, color. anything to do with art she loves" Rebecca nodded. "She has a real love for BTS currently, and she also is obsessed with Tom Holland, so that endears her to her brother.. with his love of Spiderman."
"So she's boy crazy.. fantastic" Colby nodded with a laugh
"I think you two will get along just great once she warms up to you" Rebecca nodded. "She loves you the most."
"I love her the most," he said, and she laughed.
After dinner from room service and showering, together for the first time in years.
Rebecca was fast asleep in the bed.
Colby jolted awake quickly. Another nightmare occurred every night; it was the same thing every time.. he had killed Brandon, he was being arrested in front of his children, and his wife and Rebecca screamed at him that he would never see their kids again. She would disappear. That's when he woke up.
He snuck into the bathroom, looked at himself in the mirror, and shook his head.
His eyes quickly went to Rebecca's bag on the counter; he looked in it as a pill bottle caught his attention.

"Why is she taking anxiety medication..." he wondered to himself as he stared at the bottle in his hand and put it back in her bag before taking it out again and staring at it.
He walked out of the bathroom and stared at his wife, who was still asleep; his eyes went from her to the bottle and back to her again.
"You're fine, you're fine," he said quietly as he opened the bottle quickly and popped three of the pills in his mouth quickly.
