10. Blood Sucking Demons

"I'm gonna kill him," Seonghwa said, trying to get ahold of Taehyun as he entered the wolves' house with Yeonjun behind him carrying Beomgyu. "We need his fucking help."

"He's moody. We know this," Yeonjun scoffed, carrying Beomgyu to the living room where all of them were sitting. "He was bit, but he's okay. He has a really high fever now, so one of you needs to use your weirdly high body heat and keep him warm. He's freezing."

"He got bit?" Kai asked as Soobin sighed and laid down on the floor. Beomgyu weakly walked over, holding the blanket around him tighter as he laid down beside Soobin.

Seonghwa nodded. "Yeah. And the guy who's probably the cause of Beomgyu's idiocracy in the first place is missing in action."

They explained everything and Yuna clicked her tongue. "So... a group of blood sucking demons are on their way here." Yeonjun and Seonghwa both gave her an offended look and she chuckled. "I'm kidding. I'm gonna go call everyone and tell them goodbye though."

"No need," Yeonjun said. "Our group is leading them far away. We'll be fine for now."

"For now?" Chaeryoung asked.

Seonghwa nodded. "Yes, for now. But we're never really safe when we have a human with us." Beomgyu whimpered and hid his face in Soobin's warm chest, tears threatening to spill from his eyes as they all talked about him. "And you killed a vampire for just trying to eat. Some of them do kill innocent humans if that's what they need to do. I like Beomgyu too Yeonjun. But that vampire wasn't technically in the wrong. And now his group is out for blood. Yours and Beomgyu's to be exact."

"Are you gonna protect me?" Beomgyu asked, huddled next to Soobin on his bed as the older typed on his laptop.

"I can try... but they're fast."

"Way to give me hope," Beomgyu mumbled and Soobin laughed a little bit.

"Go to sleep. It's been a long night."

Beomgyu nodded sleepily and shut his eyes, curling against the warm canine for some sort of relief to the fever. After a little bit, the feeling of Soobin moving his laptop and getting comfortable woke him up.

"Soobin, you're all in danger because of me?"

The wolf bit his lip. "No. Not necessarily. It's really Yeonjun's fault considering he didn't have to save you in the first place. Or at least, he didn't have to kill the guy. But I'm glad he did because you're safe now."

Beomgyu smiled and was falling asleep again when a loud crash was heard from downstairs.

"What was that?" He gasped.

"Stay here," Soobin said, standing up and running out of the room. Beomgyu saw all the others running passed the door and cowered behind the blanket, fearing that it was the vampires. After a few minutes, he looked at the window behind the bed, whimpering when he saw that it was open.

He was breathing heavily, still feeling weak from the fact that his body was fighting itself, and crawled across the bed to try to close the window. But he couldn't. His strength was completely gone.

He was about to just go figure something else out when a hand grabbed his and yanked him out of the window. He fell two stories to a snow bank below, wincing at how cold it was. But that's not what he should be worrying about. Someone wearing all black jumped from the window onto the ground, a few feet in front of him, and he attempted to crawl back, only for the vampire to place a foot on his chest to keep him still.

"Please stop," he cried, being pushed further into the snow by the weight exerted on his chest.

"No. We're having fun Darling," she said, leaning down to pull him to his feet by his neck. "You're sick from the bite, aren't you?" She pouted. "Poor pathetic human. Such a weak species."

She was about to lean in to bite his neck, but she was pushed against the wall by someone, leading to Beomgyu falling in the snow again. "Why don't you go back to your idiots and call them off since you are the leader after all? This is my human. You touch him and you're dead."

She laughed scornfully, but the other vampire just stared at her unfazed. "If you kill me, they'll all come after you."

"Then don't make me kill you."

A while of bickering later, Beomgyu felt himself being lifted into another pair of arms, not even being surprised by the action anymore. He recognized the perfume of who was holding him, the only clear sense of his right now being scent, and a smile played on his lips.
