39. See You In The Next One

As soon as the four of them entered the vampires' house, all of them were staring at them in shock. Seonghwa looked angry as always, but Taehyun knew he had every right to be.

And he knew what was coming, and he was dreading it.

"It's all over the news," Yeosang said, shaking his head.

Taehyun looked at the TV where the video was playing and shook his head. When he looked around, Seonghwa was obviously gesturing him over and he followed him outside.

"You know..."

"Yeah," Taehyun whispered, looking down. "We'll all leave to protect you and the others. This means that Ari and Kevin too? Since they're humans who have relationships with us?"

Seonghwa nodded. "I know it wasn't your fault." His voice cracked a little bit and he looked down, shaking his head. "I'm so fucking sorry Taehyun."

"For what?"

"I never took your side. And now it's too late for me to get the chance."

Taehyun shook his head. "You always took the side that protected the others, Seonghwa. You only went by the Advictoriam's rules to protect them. And now they're gonna kill us."

"I can't do anything about it," Seonghwa said, sitting on a chair by the pool. "They'll be here tomorrow. I recommend just... loving Beomgyu until then, okay? Make sure he's happy until they get here." He stood back up. "For 501 years you've always been there for me. You've always been my best friend."

He walked over to shake Taehyun's hand that the boy happily took. "And you've always been the best mentor." He smiled a bit and let go. "We'll be leaving soon."

"Bye!" All of them yelled to Taehyun, Beomgyu, Yeonjun, Ari, and Kevin as they began walking out.

Only Taehyun and Seonghwa were educated enough to know what was going to happen. But Taehyun took Seonghwa's advice and let them live in blissful ignorance until the time came.

When all of them were already out, Taehyun looked at Seonghwa and smiled. "See you in the next one," he said and Seonghwa nodded, leading to Taehyun leaving and shutting the door behind him.

That was a saying they made together a few hundred years ago. Yes, it's already a saying, but it has it's own value to it with them. At all times, they were in a very dangerous situation between the Advictoriam and humans. They can die at any time because of it. One of them saying "see you in the next one" before he leaves is him saying that he's most likely going to die before they see each other again, and they'll see the other one in the next life.

This was the only time one of them has said it, and Seonghwa realized how much it hurt after Taehyun already left.

Date: May 8th

"Beomgyu-ah," Taehyun said, taking a picture of the annoyed boy.

"Stooop. You know I don't like my picture being taken."

"Why? You're beautiful. These are for memory anyway."

They were all sitting at a park to get out of the cramped motel room and Kevin was still kind of freaking out about the fact that they were vampires, but he thought it was cool too.

"I love you-"

"That's like the fifth time you've told me that TODAY," Beomgyu groaned. "What is it? You're freaking me out."

"I'm just telling you I love you..." he pouted and Beomgyu rolled his eyes, angry that Taehyun wasn't telling him what the hell was going on. After a little bit, they walked out into a huge field since Taehyun said they needed to. Nobody knew why, except for Taehyun who could sense that the Advictoriam were close.

And sure enough, he was right.

"Holy shit," Ari said as probably a couple hundred vampires clad in black robes emerged from the dark woods. "Are they the Advictoriam?"

"Some of them, yeah," Taehyun said, looking down.

"Did you know they were coming here?"

Taehyun nodded. "Seonghwa told me to not tell you guys so you wouldn't be scared."

"Well that was fucking smart of you. Now none of us are prepared-"

"There's no preparing. There's no way for three vampires and two humans to get through them." He looked at Beomgyu and saw the ring between the boy's fingers.

"How could you not tell me?"

"It's not important anymore," he shook his head and looked back at the Advictoriam, seeing the leader in the middle. "How are we gonna do this?"

The girl (a.k.a the bane of his existence) walked out and gestured him across the 200 feet with her finger. He walked over, much too slow for her liking as he was pushed to his knees.

"Sir, can I have a little fun with him? He was my pet back then after all." The leader nodded and Taehyun was shoved back, all the way back to the others. He held his arm over his mouth, already regretting everything as the girl told him to come to her again.

He didn't fucking want to. And the fact that Beomgyu was looking away from him made this situation ten times harder.

The five of them couldn't fight them. He wanted to live, and these two humans didn't deserve to be here.

He didn't want to get up to let this stupid vampire play with him, but alas, he started getting up, stopping when a familiar black snout started bumping his head.

The pain from the shove had him whimpering, but he used Soobin's neck to pull himself up to stand, seeing all of the vampires and wolves entering the field behind them.

He smiled weakly, resting his face in Soobin's fur to regain himself for a second.

"Isn't it about time we all give up on this stupid narrative?" Seonghwa asked the Advictoriam, checking up on Taehyun who nodded. "I mean, Beomgyu saved a group of kids and the world just thinks he's a hero. What if we don't tell them we're vampires, rather, we're just really special people?"

"You're very special for having that mindset. You're very smart though Seonghwa. Why don't you join us again and-"

"Again? I never wanted to join your group. I never did in the first place. I'm 200 years older than you and the Advictoriam."

The leader tilted his head. "What?"

"Oh, yeah, you see... I'm the third oldest vampire to ever live, and I'm currently the oldest living one. So do I have more authority than you? Yes, technically."

"Are you done talking?" Seonghwa shrugged. "Whatever. Bring me one of the humans. I'm starving."

A vampire ran over and Ari started yelling when she was being dragged by her arm. "Stop!" She screamed.

Beomgyu ran over and grabbed the vampire's head, quickly twisting it and snapping his neck. This made the other side start running at them and he sighed.

"You've gotta be kidding me."
