21. Happy Birthday

Date: March 13th

"Happy birthday!" Yeji happily exclaimed, handing Beomgyu a small box.

"I told you guys not to get me anything," he laughed a little bit, looking at the pack of werewolves as they were all excited for him to open it.

"Well, this is our present so your bloodsucker can give you his," Kai said, yelping when Soobin lightly hit his arm.

"They don't like us calling them that."

"Well we don't like them calling us dirty mutts either," Kai retorted and they all started laughing, but agreeing at the same time.

In the midst of them arguing, Beomgyu opened the box, confused to find two keys.

"What are these for?" He asked.

"Well, one of them is for your new car since your old one got totaled on our property," Mark said.

"And the other one is for a nice house in the woods so you and Taehyun don't have to worry about the others. You have it all weekend," Donghyuck added and Beomgyu looked at all of them in disbelief.

"This is... amazing," he said, leading to all of them bear hugging him and he got overheated quickly, but he didn't care.

It was so cliché to him. A relationship with a vampire, and a friendship with the werewolves. He felt like he'd seen that storyline somewhere before.

And again, another thing that he did not want.

A birthday party.

Hosted by his sister and a bunch of vampires.

Really the only alarming thing about it was all the vampires and werewolves in the same house. They were aware that Ari couldn't know, but it was still kind of freaking Beomgyu out.

"I'm gonna go get a drink," he said, going to the kitchen while they all laughed and played games in the living room. When he came back, he stopped by the couch when he saw Taehyun and Renjun playing pocky.

Beomgyu knew werewolves could get drunk, and right now, Renjun was hammered. Ari had gotten up to go use the restroom, so Beomgyu wasn't worried about her with all of them right now.

But Taehyun was... now making out with a werewolf.

The sound of glass breaking caught everyone's attention and they all looked at Beomgyu, the werewolves gasping when his hand was ripped apart from the glass.

Now, Yeosang was the youngest vampire, but he had already been able to control his hunger for blood. The other young vampires, on the other hand, couldn't really handle seeing it in the open.

"Minjeong no!" Taehyun yelled, pushing her away when she ran over to Beomgyu, making the human get thrown against the wall. Taehyun could only watch in absolute shock as Mingi had to hold Minjeong back and Yeonjun rushed to Beomgyu's side, helping him sit up.

Yeonjun looked at the blood on Beomgyu's hand and face, panting heavily along with all the others.

"Seonghwa," he said. "You need to help him. I can't handle it." He looked at the blood on his fingers, and then the absolute terror on Beomgyu's face when he saw a bunch of vampires staring at his bloody state.

Yeonjun wasn't a young vampire by any means. He was the third oldest of the group, but he was still affected by the scent and sight of blood.

Fear washed over Beomgyu when he realized who threw him against the wall and he looked at Taehyun, noticing that the vampire was also staring at the blood.
