A/N: The question about what happened with Taehyun's powers will be brought up at some point lol.

Date: March 15th

"You know I don't like taking money from people, but they're rich, and they're really nice, and they offered," Ari said as she and Beomgyu ate breakfast.

"So we're moving today?" He asked and she nodded. When he saw Hongjoong walking through the house, he walked over to him and away from her. "What about our safety?"

"Nobody's after you. You'll be fine. Plus, we'll all still be at school together. If you ever need help, you know our numbers."

Beomgyu nodded and let him go since he seemed like he was busy, going back to his sister. "Um... what's going on with work?"

She clasped her hands together excitedly and he smiled. "I'm starting school. Also, I got a job in an office for the time being so that'll pay for other expenses."

"That's good," he said, looking toward the door when he saw Seonghwa and Taehyun walk in. "Can I talk to you guys?" He didn't let them answer before he just dragged them away anyway and they were both offended. "Why did you give us money?"

"It's too dangerous for her to be here, Beomgyu. You should understand this by now."

"But she's been here for two months and nothing bad has happened."

"I agree with Seonghwa." Beomgyu looked at Taehyun with wide eyes and shook his head.

"What are you so worried about? She wouldn't tell anybody."

"It's not about the humans anymore," Seonghwa said. "The Advictoriam are really cracking down on human and vampire relations." Beomgyu looked at Taehyun, the vampire noticeably sad, and he shook his head again.

"Change me."

"Beomgyu-"

"Why won't you?"

"Because."

Beomgyu bit his lip and looked down, angry to the point where it hurt.

***

"You know the only way to bring back a human being that died of way too much blood loss would be turning them into a vampire?"

"What kind of lore have you been reading?" Ari chuckled, unloading groceries in the kitchen of their new apartment.

"The realistic kind." He laughed and looked out the window, shivering when he felt like something was watching him. He got used to that feeling though because usually it was Taehyun or something outside.

But now he didn't know what it was.

"I'm gonna go blow up my air mattress," Beomgyu said, going to do that in his new room. They didn't accept any furniture except for a few necessities.

The next day at school, the vampires weren't there, but the wolves were, as always.

"Why do vampires pick and choose who to turn?" Beomgyu asked Kai as they walked down the hall.

Kai shrugged. "I don't know a lot about them. They've never really gained my interest. Um... why are you asking that?"

"Isn't it obvious?"

Kai rolled his eyes and Beomgyu looked down. "You wanna become one of them."

"Yeah..."

"Why?"

As stupid as it sounded, no, Beomgyu didn't have a set reason. Other than Taehyun, the only reason would be that it would be cool.

Cool.

Changing his whole life to something just because it's cool.

"You realize what you'll have to give up right?" Beomgyu nodded. "Ari, Juliet, your classmates. Well you won't lose us because werewolves are also immortal in real life."

"Wait, wha-" Beomgyu's phone started ringing and he took it out, seeing that it was Ari. "I need to take this. Ari only calls me during school if it's an emergency." Kai nodded and he walked away to a secluded area to pick up the phone. "Hello?"

"You know it's a little funny," a male voice said on the other line and Beomgyu started internally freaking out. "You guys were so afraid of the Advictoriam that you were afraid of the last group of vampires you fought."

"What do you want?"

"Revenge Choi Beomgyu. I'll be at the museum by your new apartment. Make sure you come alone. I might need to hurt your sister if I smell a dog or a bat nearby."

He hung up and Beomgyu looked around in panic, not thinking straight as he ran out of the building and to his car.

"Beomgyu!" Soobin called out, following him and leaning in his open window. "Where are you going? You look upset."

"I'm-I'm not. Okay? I'm just stressed," he blinked rapidly and started the car, sighing when Soobin wouldn't leave.

"Let's just go for a run. It's calmed you down a few times in the past couple of months."

Beomgyu shook his head, tears threatening to spill from his eyes. "I have to go! And you have to stay here! And we can't see each other anymore! This is goodbye, okay?! We're done, you stupid mutt!" He drove away, finally breaking down crying in the car from what he said.

It was goodbye. He realized that when he said it to his best friend.

Goodbye.

The vampires seeked revenge, and it was his life, or his sister's.

"Please pick up," he nearly sobbed into the phone, driving through the blinding rain to get across town.

"Hello, you've reached the voice-mail of Wooyoung! Please tell me what it is you need to tell me or call me back! Bye bye!"

"Wooyoung, I just... thank you, okay? Thank you for helping me a lot. I'm really gonna miss you." He threw his phone into the seat next to him, looking at the blurry red spot fifty feet away from him as he thought about his sister's words.

"You know what I would do if I lost you too?"

"What?" Beomgyu whispered.

"Nothing. There's nothing to do if the last person in my life dies. And you almost died."

Beomgyu cried harder, ending up running the red light and just missing a pickup truck that was honking nonstop. When he made it to the building, he sat in his car for a second, thinking about everything as harsh rain hit the windows.

The vampires.

The wolves.

Taehyun.

The song that played after their first night together.

You really know how to make me cry when you gimme those ocean eyes. I'm scared. I've never fallen from quite this high. Fallin' into your ocean eyes. Those ocean eyes.

"I'm scared," he whispered, looking at the museum as the song played on the radio.
