The boogeyman, that was the name Lorenzo was given after his first assignment. The name that went around in the rundown parts of the city. For years now, local gang crimes and thugs have been under control, the meager task Lorenzo was assigned by his father. Lorenzo counted the days till his father relinquished control and gave what he had trained his whole life for, the Italian mafia. When he turned 18, his wish was granted. His family's most prized possession was now under his hands.

He was ruthless, cunning, and really an all-out brilliant man when it came to business. He was not a people pleaser, people pleased him. He made his name known to those he wanted to know. Although, there were rumors that spread further out into the city about him. The boogeyman is what they called him, yet there was no face to the name. No regular citizen knew what he looked like, they had no connections. The farther you went into the city, Lorenzo's role as the Don diminished. He didn't want to deal with the rich, not when it came to the mafia's affairs. Farther out into the city, he would use the rundown and abandoned places for his transactions and affairs on the mafia. To his gain, the police would mind their business because he was the highest funder. As you moved closer towards the city, his role as Lorenzo Amoretto the investor would come to light. He owned large portions of some of the biggest companies globally, gaining his influence.

Worldwide, he had competition. There was peace between the American and Italian mafia that his father had previously handled before him. The Spanish would be a problem now and then, their mafia was too large for their own good. They had sectors in the Western hemisphere that aided in their drug-induced transactions, and their main location was in Spain of course. They would get careless when it would come to the rules that were set between all the mafias. However, everyone knew the rules set between the Italian and Russians.

The Russians were everyone's problem. The Russian mafia was the richest in the world, bringing in 2 trillion dollars annually. Why? Their ruthless nature. The Italians had their morals, as in hands off of women and children. The Russians didn't care, there were no morals. They were the head of the sex trafficking that took place in Russia and northern territories. With more money comes more power. Some people in the Italian mafia feared their Don, but they feared more at being in the hands of the Russians. Why? They were merciless. A mistake there or between negotiations could get you killed at the hands of the Russians. The Polish mafia was currently at the brink of collapse after most of their men were slaughtered due to their carelessness with the Russians. That is how the Italian mafia has stayed intact for so long; they were calculated and precise in their affairs with the other mafias.

With Lorenzo, the Italian mafia would continue to thrive as long as nothing veered him from his path of dominance in the mafia world.
