Chapter Thirty

*Third Pov*

The next match was Coco and Yatsuhashi vs. Emerald and Mercury. Both combatants fought hard to overcome their opponents, and unfortunately Coco and Yatsuhashi were defeated by the "students" from Haven and caused an upset among the crowd, especially those from Beacon Academy and Vale as they were favorites and/or friends. William, however, notices something between Coco and Emerald at the end. Coco was talking to something behind her as if a person was there and noticed on the holo board that her teammate was eliminated and started to tense and look around, then Emerald blindsided her and defeated Coco.

It was a strange match...

As right now William's locker room is getting ready... Getting ready for what?

William: *sighs* I cannot believe I'm doing this.

*Flashback*

William mentions the new students from Haven to the General, Headmaster, Qrow, and Goodwitch; they were skeptical of my claims.

Ironwood: You know this how?

William: I've been around combat during the war, and I know hand-to-hand fighting. Those so-called students were experienced fighters and not from a student. Also, it's a gut feeling.

Qrow: We can't upper-hand them because of your assumption and a gut feeling.

William: Do you ever pay attention to your students? Students are called students because they are learning the basics and are still learning until they come to an age where they're not students anymore. And I'm telling you that those three, including the fourth teammate, have more experience, and their skills make them stand out.

Goodwitch: Thier skills?

William: A fighter uses their skills and knowledge to win a battle. Students would be hesitant at times because of fear, not wanting to kill the person, or not having enough experience to know not to let the opponent have a breathing room. Those four never hesitate, and they put a show of what they can do.

There was a quiet pause as they thought about the students. Ironwood thought about and agreed; same with the headmaster; Goodwitch hesitated; and Qrow didn't give much thought, not really convinced.

Ironwood: I'll look into it. It doesn't really sound convincing at first, but as S-Marine with experience, you are maybe right.

Ozpin: I'll reach the headmaster from Haven to see information about those students.

Qrow: You can't be serious. Believing in the soldier boy here.

Ozpin: He has no reason to lead us astray. And I trust him.

Ironwood: So, do I. 

Goodwitch: Me too.

Qrow: *scoffs* whatever.

Ozpin: Right, we will look into these suspects while calming the public down.

William: Right.

Qrow: I'll keep a lookout.

Goodwitch: Same.

Before William leaves, Ozpin calls for him.

Ozpin: William, wait for a second.

William: Yes, headmaster.

Ozpin: Ironwood and I were discussing, and both agreed.

William: Okay?

Ozpin: We would like you to participate in the arena.

William: What?

Goodwitch: Headmaster, it goes against the rules.
