I was sort of excited to have a new next door neighbor. My bestfriend lived in that house before she was murdered. I was still trying to come to terms with it all, but it felt like it happened yesterday when in reality it had been a year since Jess died. Her parents moved away after the funeral the pain was just too much for them.
Honestly I didn't blame them. They left Jessica's room intact even after moving. Last summer I would sometimes sneak in the house and go to her room and just sit there. It felt like she never left almost like she was still in that room. I was looking through my room window when I saw the U-HAUL truck pull into the drive-way of the house.
I decided to go meet the new neighbors. My parents had already left for work that was the usual. I walked outside and went over to the house but I only saw movers moving furniture into the house, but no new neighbors.
I was going to go back home when I realized that all of Jess's things from her room were out on the curb like trash. My heart broke I felt a tear fall from my left eye and I quickly wiped it away. I had a flashback
"Eva do I look fat in this dress?"
I giggled "No, Jess you look prego."
She glared at me then gave me half a smile then asked
"Are you trying to get killed?"
I was going to respond but before the words left my lips she kissed me.
I quickly came back to reality when I felt a tap on my shoulder I turned around to see a girl standing there she looked a bit confused.
She was beautiful her hair was curly but she had it up in a bun, her body was perfect it looked liked she lived in the gym. She wore a tank top that exposed her tight stomach, and tights that showed off her curves. Her eyes were hazel and I just couldn't stop staring into them in her eyes I saw Jess it scared me.
"Hi, I'm Maya nice to meet you."
She held out her hand I tried to
talk but I just couldn't get my mouth to move it was so embarssing.
She giggled, then hugged me I was so shocked. Finally my mouth opened
"Uh hi, nice meeting you Maya I live next door."
She smiled
"Yeah I saw when you left your house."
Wait she saw me? I didn't even notice her.
