Unexpected

Chapter 10

Maya's POV

I couldn't believe what just happened Eva ran out. I thought that it was all my fault I sat on the bathroom floor crying.

I really liked this girl even though I just met her I felt it in my heart she was the one I just knew it.

I finally got up and went into my room, but it didn't feel like "My room" it felt like I was a trespasser in Jesssica's room. I didn't feel at home in these moments I wished that my parents were around for me. Maybe then I wouldn't feel so alone.

I snapped back to reality and layed down on my bed. I thought about the moment we shared at the beach it was beautiful and when we we're in the bathroom it all seemed perfect.

Eva had no idea what it did to me when she called me daredevil. My body was ready for her, hell I was ready for her emotionally, mentally, and physically but she wasn't.

That's how life was I supposed. I fell asleep with her on my mind.

That morning I woke up with a serious migraine it was painful just to open my eyes.

I threw on some clothes and walked slowly downstairs. I grabbed my car keys and headed to my car.

Right when I was about to get in the car I saw Eva looking through her window she looked beautiful even when she had just woke up.

My eyes met with hers and I got into the car then I sped off doing 50 in a 25 zone. I had no idea where I was going I was new to this town and didn't know my way around. I pulled my car to the side and just cried for an hour.

Finally I turned back around and headed home when I got there I saw a car parked in the driveway it didn't look familiar. I pulled in and got of the car.

I noticed no cars in Eva's driveway I guessed she ran off somewhere. I unlocked the front door when I walked in to my surprise I saw my dad sitting up against the living room wall with a bottle of whiskey in his hand. Its been a year since I've seen him

"Dad? What are you doing here?"

"This is my house isn't it Maya, I can be here if I want"

"Dad you're drunk, just go please this isn't your house"

"No you go and find that slutty mom of yours I'd like to show her a few tricks"

the words hit me hard how could he say such a thing to his daughter.

I ran outside and in perfect timing I saw Eva on the grass with some girl on top of her laughing.

She saw me I felt the tears coming I couldn't let her see me cry, I ran back inside and slammed the door behind me. I broke down everything just hit me at once.

The reason why I was moved place to place was because my parents had been divorced for 2 years.

My mom couldn't deal with my alcoholic father anymore he would hit the both of us in drunken rage.

She tried her best to keep him away from me so she would move me around, but he always found me in order to get to her.

I saw him turn around and look at me with such rage in his eyes I knew that look too well.

I quicky ran upstairs I was so close to the room when I felt his manly hands wrap around my leg, he pulled me so hard I thought my leg broke.

He pulled me down the steps my head connecting with each one of those steps the pain impacting my face over and over again.

It was over there were no more steps my lip was busted and I couldn't open my right eye.

I turned on my back to see the monster my dad had transformed into whenever he drank alcohol.

Tears fell from his face

"I'm sorry, I didn't mean too..."

In between sobs I heard him mumbling words I could smell the whiskey on his foul breath.

Next thing I know he ran out leaving the door wide open and me on the floor in pain.

I heard his engine rumble then his car zoomed out of the driveway I layed there scared and frozen.

I got up and walked over to Eva's house, I ranged the doorbell and she opened the door. She looked groggy I could tell that she had been sleeping.

I stood there crying

"What happened? Who did this to you?"

I couldn't say anything I felt frozen in place. Eva hugged me and let me in.

The same girl I saw earlier with Eva came running downstairs she looked shocked to see me.

Eva had asked her to bring somethings to clean up my face.

She finally came with the things and Eva begin cleaning my face.

When the warm cloth touched my lip I flinched she rubbed her thumb over it

"Don't worry I won't hurt you"

I smiled and she continued cleaning my face.

I could see the other girl watching intently from the couch I could see fear in her eyes. Finally Eva finished up and put bandages on a few bruises.

Then she left to put the things away. I decided to introduce myself to the girl. I learned that her name was Peyton and Eva and her were close friends.

I hope that they were just close friends and nothing else because Peyton was beautiful her hair was a fiery red and she had green eyes that shined brightly in the light.

Even though she was sitting down I can tell that she had a slim physique she was just perfect. I felt a bit jealous maybe Eva saw more in her then me.

Eva came back downstairs everything was quiet now. She looked at the both of us then smiled

"Well girls I guess its going to be a full house tonight".
