Unexpected

Chapter 8

"What about my clothes? And Will your parents be okay with it?"

"Don't worry Peyton we are about the same size in clothes, and my parents are never home they won't mind"

"Okay thank you so much I appreciate what your doing I'll pay you back don't worry"

I looked at her and smiled

"No biggie that's what friends are for and you don't have to pay me back"

We finally made it back to my house I noticed another car parked in Maya's driveway I shrugged it off.

I walked over to the passenger side and opened the door for Peyton. Next thing I know is that she jumps out of the car and hugged me I wasn't expecting it so I fell down and she landed on top of me.

We both laughed as we laid in the grass it was funny. When I got up to my feet I noticed that Maya had been watching.

I saw the jealously in her eyes, but it wasn't what it had looked like, nothing is never what it looks like but she didn't know that.

She walked back inside I heard the door slam.

"Do you know her Eva?"

"Um.. Yeah sort of she moved in yesterday"

"Does it bother you, you know that she lives there now?"

"No not really it just makes me realize that Jess is really gone that's all"

Peyton didn't say anything she just shook her head in agreement.

The three of us were pretty close. Peyton was younger so she sort of admired Jess you know looked up to her. So when Jess died she took it worst then I had.

We didn't talk or see each other for a few months. It was recently that she started calling me again.

Peyton had been to my house plenty of times before there was no need to give her a tour.

"Mi casa, su casa amiga"

she smiled and made her way upstairs. I stayed in the living room to catch up on my shows.

I started watching the episode of Glee I had miss. Half way through the show I felt myself drifting away.

I turned off the t.v. and closed my eyes

I woke up and found myself on the couch I didn't even remember falling asleep. I rose to my feet yawned then stretched.

I started making my way to the stairs, when the door bell rang. I didn't even bother to look through the peep hole I was still a bit groggy from my nap.

I opened the door and saw Maya standing there crying with a busted lip and a bruised eye.

"What happened? Who did this to you?"

She didn't say anything she just stood there I hugged her and let her in.

Peyton came running downstairs she was shocked to see Maya standing there beaten up.

"Peyton can you grab me a cloth and some warm water with bandages please"

"No problem"

she ran back up the stairs so quickly.

She came back down and handed me what I had asked for. I dipped the cloth in the water and began wipping the blood from Maya's lip.

She flinched when it touched her face I rubbed my thumb over her bruised lip

"Its okay don't worry I won't hurt you"

she smiled and I continued cleaning her face.

Peyton sat on the couch watching looking amazed but scared. I finished cleaning Maya up then put bandages on her cuts I got up to put the stuff away.

"Hi, I'm Maya I don't usually look like this, I'm having a pretty bad day"

"Hi, I'm Peyton nice to meet you"

"Are you a friend of Eva's?"

"Yeah"

"Okay cool"

When I came back downstairs it was pretty silent.

Looked at both the girls and smiled

"Well girls I guess its going to be a full house tonight".
