Chapter 20

At this very moment nothing made sense I thought about my life and everything I had ever encountered. I realized that life wasn't meant to be understood but instead just to be lived.

You wouldn't know how to get up unless you've fallen down before, and happiness can't be understood if you've never felt sadness

I realized all of this as I looked deeply into his cold, emotionless blue eyes. Why didn't I see the signs the random car following me, then that weird encounter at my house it all made sense.

Only thing is Ben got to me before I could figure it all out. He walked towards me with a sadistic smile plastered on his face holding a box in his hands.

"You always were a sneaky bitch"

He looked at me and shook his head laughing

"But that's what I loved about you, I don't know you were just like Jessica Eva"

"Ben what do you mean just like Jessica?"

I asked curiously

I saw confusion and pain come upon his face when I asked, but he ignored me and started going through the box he held in his hands.

"Eva I'm sorry I really didn't mean for it to go this far it, just-"

he stopped talking and I saw another guy walk in I've never seen him before.

"I didn't tell you to come in here and converse with the girl. I gave you a simple order"

Ben didn't say anything he just stood there like a bitch, so I stood up and said something

"Why the fuck am I here, and who are you?"

This guy hit me square on in the face he didn't forget that I was a girl he just didn't care. I tipped over and fell to the ground, then the guy kneeled beside me. I moved back as he spoke

"Bitch! I wasn't talking to you, and take my advice shut your damn mouth it can get you killed just like your little friend Jess"

he smiled then gave me a wink

I didn't say anything to him I took his advice, but wait he knew Jess?

Ben looked worried at this moment but the look on his face indicated that he couldn't help me in any way shape or form.

Before the guy left the room he turned to Ben smiling

"Ben break the news to her gently okay"

he then walked away I could hear his foot steps fading down the hallway.

I looked at Ben quickly holding my face that had just been used as a punching bag

"What is he talking about?"

He didn't say anything to me

"Ben what the hell is going on? and what news was he talking about?"

He came over to me and examined my bruised face he attempted to touch my face but I stopped him

"No please don't touch me I need answers Ben like what's going on? Please Ben this isn't you what changed?"

He quickly got up with his back facing me

"Eva I've done things that I'm not proud of and honestly I will probably burn in hell. I just ask that you forgive me please"

"You're starting to scare me"

"Well I haven't always been honest with you-"

he paused for a brief moment

"My real name is Trevor not Ben and that guy he is really dangerous, but he's my partner now"

"I don't get any of this what does that have to do with me, and why would you lie to me Ben I mean 'Trevor'? I thought that you loved me?"

"Its complicated okay I can't just give you answers because they aren't answers that anybody would want to hear okay"

He walked to the door and squeezed the door knob in his hand, then the door was beginnng to close slightly

"Eva?"

"Yes?"

"Your parents are dead".
