Divided: Chapter 7 - Bubbles & Daisies
April 2015

Racing down the streets of Pentagram city slithering as fast as he could to meet Penny. Gym back on his back and a bunch of flowers for Penny in hand, Monty was running so excitedly to see his boyfriend to tell him the good news! A smile was plastered on his face and he did not care if he knocked over sinners or imps in his wake.

Turning a hard corner and up another street to a much nicer park than the one next to the Arena looking up to the sky to see that wonderful ship Monty was always so happy to find Penny's ship in the sky. Reaching the park he leapt the hedge rather than using the gate and he kept going. He went to the elevator and was twitchy with energy; he wanted it to go up faster.

Once the lift made it to the ship Monty bashed the gate open, knocking over helpless egg boys like bowling pins as he raced down the ship checking each room he passed calling for Pentious.
It was then he got to the workshop where he heard the sound of the welding torch sparking against the metal.
"PENNY!" He yelled from the door but was so excited you'd think his usually flat hood was going to pop up. Monty put his hands to his mouth and yelled louder "HEY PENNY!!"

Raising his head from the project he was working on Sir Pentious was wearing his overalls for inventing and tinkering. He took off his goggles to see Monty more clearly, despite his dark scales you could tell Pentious was covered in some sort of residue when he took the goggles off.
"Monty?! Oh, what a surprise you are here early!" He glanced at the clock and had not realised he had lost himself in his work. "Oh my! I am so sorry I got lost in making this new invention for the ship."
"Oh it's fine Penny I was running late from training but I have 2 things to tell ya!" He was eager to tell Penny something.
Penny turned on his swivel stool to face the python as he took off his working gloves and listened intently "Sure what is it Montgomery?".
"Ok first off these are for you, Penny." Monty hands Pentious a small bouquet that has been dishevelled due to him racing to the ship but they were still intact enough.

Sir Pentious blushed at the sight of the flowers. They were in cheap brown paper and were a mix of giant white and yellow daisies. Pen buried his face in the bouquet to enjoy their scent and he looked up at Monty sweetly. "Oh, my stars! Thank you Monty, that is so sweet of you!" He cradled them in his lap and blushed at the gift, "what's the occasion?"
Monty blushed as he did find it kind of silly but cheesy as he fiddled with his white-clawed fingers as he spoke, "Well it's our 3 month anniversary so I thought I'd get you something to mark the day but I promise when I get enough money. I will take you out to a big fancy date!"
"Aww! MONTY! That is so thoughtful! Has it been 3 months already?!" He cupped his face blushing that he forgot and the sweetness of Monty. "What is the big news you wanted to tell me? It cannot be just to give me flowers?"

The Irish Python was antsy but he took some deep breaths to tell Penny his announcement, "I got in!". Penny had a face of confusion but went wide-eyed, " The arena tournament you qualified!"
"N-no this uh...Sinners Shakedown I made it for the next round of fighters." He pulled out the folded and wrinkled yellow flyer he had since their first date handing it to Penny.
Pen took it and read the somewhat faded flyer, "Monty! This is one of those fights that go against the rules of the arena? I know we are in Hell but this could kill you!"
Taken aback by this reaction Monty was a little disheartened that Pen was not as thrilled as he was. "10 K.Os! Monty that is your entire career as it stands and you worked hard for the title of "The Irish Python". You want to go through with this rumble of ruffians?" He sounded worried but stopped and saw Monty's face all disappointed. "I am sorry Monty it's...I cannot help but worry and I have only been to your training sessions. I only heard your match on the radio here...I cannot bear to see you hurt." He looked down at the flyer and saw the prize money knowing how much that would aid his lover.
"Alright...but on two conditions. We will continue our training together until this Shakedown in 2 weeks and secondly, I will spectate in the audience." Pen sat up more regal and proud-like to be the guest of the Irish Python.
