Chapter 41
Michelle's P.O.V
I wake up after the long night last night just to see him laying next to me. I watch him for a few minutes before he opens his eyes.
"Never have I ever thought I would wake up next to you." He says smiling in his wake up voice which makes me smile immediately.
"I was enjoying watching you asleep." I tell him and he smiles bringing me close to him.
"Are you still tired?" I ask him breathing in his scent. "I haven't slept for a while." He mumbles and I pull away from him. "Why?" I ask looking up at him. "Let's not talk about it." He says looking back at me with his glowing blue eyes. "Please." I beg and he nods in agreement. "I keep having these nightmares about ... about losing you." He says brushing my cheek softly. "You won't." I assure him resting my forehead on his chest. "I won't allow it." I hear him whisper and hug him tightly.
"I have these nightmares too." I remind myself but choose not to tell him.
"Josh, promise me every night you have these kind of nightmares to just come to me; no matter where we are." I tell him looking at him again. "Okay." He softly nods smiling.
"What time is it?" I ask him after a few seconds once I remember I don't have my phone and he immediately takes out his phone from his pocket. "It's 6:00 am." He says reminding me of school that starts exactly after two hours but it's still dark outside.
"I don't want to go." I say burying my face in his chest. "Michelle." He softly calls. "Yeah?" I gently ask him.
"When is your birthday?" He surprisingly asks me. "On 6th February." I tell him and he nods smiling. "What about you?" I ask looking back at him. "It's on the 26th of October." He tells me. " It passed. I never knew it was your birthday." I tell him surprised and his smile goes wider. "You think birthdays are stupid too, don't you?" I immediately ask him after seeing Zack's and Austin's reaction last night and he nods.
"Not surprised." I say smiling. "It's the same day my dad died." He tells me looking away from me and my heart drops. "I'm sorry." I immediately tell him and images of a boy crying over his dad's body instead of blowing candles start coming.
"Josh, you became like... like this to revenge for your father, right?" I ask but before I continue he immediately stops me." Yes, but right now I couldn't care less about the man; I only do it to protect you." He says shutting me off. "Did you find him?" I ask ignoring what he just said. "Yes but he has a family now and I can't do to him what he did to me." He tells me and I just listen to every word he's saying.
"Why are you asking me about him now?" He asks me. "It's nothing. I just don't want you to live with hate in your heart and revenge on your mind." I answer him truthfully and his phone starts buzzing before he could say anything.
He takes it out again from his pocket and looks at the screen before answering it. "Hey man." I hear Zack's voice through the phone. "Hey, is everything okay?" He asks him staring at the ceiling." Yes, I was just wondering where you are, we have a meeting in less than fifteen minutes man." He tells him. "Yeah, I'll be there." He says and hangs up.
"I should go." He says turning to my side to face me. "Okay." I nod looking back at him.
"I love you." He whispers and my heart skips a beat as if it's the first time I hear him saying it. "I love you more." I tell him and watch him as he leaves through the window.
I love this, I love who I am when he's around and most of all I love him. I jump out of bed although it's almost dark outside and decide to take a shower before getting ready to school. I know it's too early but this way I will have time to have breakfast.
...
Once I get dressed I go downstairs to find both of my parents having breakfast already. "Good morning." I say once I reach the kitchen. "Morning." My father says smiling and I miss this so much. I miss being so close to my family which has changed ever since we moved here.
"You're up early." My mother says placing another plate on the table. "I woke up early and couldn't go back to sleep." I tell her smiling at the thought of waking up next to him.
"Okay, just remember to get your phone today and keep your charger with you." She tells me and I almost believed this lie. I hate lying especially to my mother but once again I have no choice.
I take a seat and enjoy the breakfast before kissing my father goodbye and get in the car with my mother. It became a habit for her to drop me at school before going to her work since I got kidnapped.
"I'll pick you up, okay?" She says before I leave the car. "Okay." I nod and cross the street.
