Chapter 2

"Come on Michelle, wake up we're leaving in two hours". I hear my mother calling behind my room's door.

It's only seven in the morning and I couldn't sleep last night; not till the sun came out which is only an hour ago.

I sigh getting out of bed and slowly walk to the bathroom to have a shower. My shaking hand reaches to turn on the shower and wait for a while before I get in making sure the water is warm.

I feel the warm water hitting my body as I reach for the soap washing my body before washing my hair and getting out of the shower.

I grab a big towel making sure it covers my whole body before leaving the warm bathroom.

I sit in front of my mirror grabbing a brush and gently run it through my hair making sure there are no knots left in it.

I go downstairs after dressing up just to see my brother standing at the front door while some strangers are moving the boxes to the truck. I kiss him goodbye as he isn't coming with us because of college before getting in the car with my parents.

...

After a ten-hour ride, we finally reach to the new house we are staying in which looks really big from the outside.

"This is our new home." My mother excitedly says as we enter the house. It's a two-floor house and more modern than the one we used to live in.

I watch as my parents bring in some of the bags before I go upstairs. "Michelle, you could pick any room you want." I hear my mother yelling from downstairs.

I enter one of the closed doors to find a room with two small windows and one big bed. I honestly have never liked big beds neither small windows. In my room; well my old room I had one small window and a big balcony.

I leave the room closing the door behind me and open the second door to find a big bathroom. "That's interesting." I tell myself laughing a bit before closing the door behind me.

I open the third door to find another room but this one is with a balcony and light pink walls. I walk to the balcony and open the glass window to find an amazing view on the street.

"I knew you were going to pick this one." I hear my father saying and I turn to find him standing behind me.

"Yeah." I just say forcing a smile. "It's going to be better here. I promise." He tells me as he wraps his arm around my shoulder.

I start unpacking not knowing where to start from before  I feel my phone buzzing in my pocket. I take it out looking at the screen and it reveals John's name.

"Hey." He says barely able to hear his voice once I pick up. "Hey." I say. "How is everything going?" He asks me in a higher voice.

"Fine, tomorrow is my first day at school". I tell him laughing a bit. I never liked school; I know what you'd be thinking. Every teenager hates school.

But I don't just hate it, it terrifies me. No matter how stupid and naive that sounds. I had to leave school when I was only fifteen because of bullying.

I was bullied for almost three years by a group of girls that I never knew or actually talked to.

I remember this girl; her name was Melissa. She was the one who started all of this and led for me to leave school.

And even after I dropped school and started homeschooling it never got better until I met John a year later.

I'm eighteen now and everything is much better but moving in here gave my parents a chance to let me continue my senior year at school.
