Chapter 7

Josh's P.O.V

She stops and turns once she sees the car which might seems unfamiliar to her.

She is so damn beautiful; I haven't seen her since yesterday. And I know she doesn't want to see me; but for some reason I'm here to see her.

I didn't want her to see me but once I saw her walking back home; I thought of giving her a ride.

I leave the car as she is still standing while I expected her to keep on walking.

"Hey." I gently say facing her while she is holding her books to her chest with her eyebrows frowned.

"Why did you get suspended?" She asks still frowning at me. "Why do you care?" I ask her smiling a bit.

"Because it's because of me. You shouldn't have come between Sasha and I yesterday." She blames.

I told the principal it was my fault; that's why none of them is in detention. I couldn't care less about Sasha but her... It's different. I care about her; that it's slowly driving me mad.

"I promised you in the party that I will take care of her." I tell her and she looks away.

I watch as she stands in front of me while the wind blows her hair as she is still frowning her eyebrows looking everywhere but at me.

"Come on, I'll take you home." I say breaking the silence.

"No, thank you." She says turning around to start walking. "Don't be stubborn, come on." I say walking after her. "Why?" She asks turning to face me.

"I just want to make sure you're home safe. And I just want to be with you." I say without making an eye contact realizing I just told her that.

I look at her to find her looking at me with her eyes wide open. "Please, come in." I beg.

"Okay." She agrees and walks to the passenger's side.

I start the car once we both get in while she rests her head on the window. "Josh, it isn't true." She says looking through the window.

"What do you mean?" I ask looking at her then back at the road. "What I heard about Sasha and... And you isn't true. Why didn't you tell me?" She asks in a low voice looking at me now.

"Because that's what everyone knows." I tell her focusing on the road and she doesn't say anything.

"Keep on driving straight." She tells me once I stop at the red light. "Okay." I nod.

"Josh, why me?" She asks looking at me. And I don't know what she means with this question.

Why do I care about her? Or why have I kissed her? Or why she thinks I don't like her? No matter what she meant by the question; all of them have the same answer.

"It doesn't matter." I answer her after a few seconds and she turns to look through the window once again.

"It's here." She tells me and I stop the car. "It's next to Chloe's house." I tell her in hope she'd have a conversation with me.

"Is it?" She asks raising her eyebrows and I nod.

"Okay. Thank you." She gently says giving me a small smile before she leaves.

...

I get home at 12 am to find George sitting in the living room watching a stupid action movie and filling the house with the sound of gunshots and fast cars.

"Where have you been?" He asks once he sees me muting the TV.

"Around." I say throwing myself on the coach.

"Josh, what about Michelle?" He asks me and him mentioning her name pisses me off more than the fact that he knows something about it.

"Who told you?" I ask him frowning.

"So that's why you're being moody lately." He smirks laughing a bit.

"It's nothing." I say taking the remote control from me. "Yeah, right. You kissing her is nothing." He says. "Yeah." I lie.

"We've never hidden anything from each other ever." He tells me still looking at me while I'm staring at the wide screen.

"It's..." I start and he interrupts me.

"I figured it out from Austin. He asked about where were you today then about her." He tells me. "She was worried about it too." He continues and that doesn't surprise me since it was the first thing she asked me about when she saw me.

"I got suspended because I was pissed she realized about that stupid rumor and blamed the argument all on me." I say still looking at the screen.

"Well, I told her the truth today while you should have already." He says and I just nod.

"I know it's hard." He says looking at me.

"I need to go to bed I have lots of work to do tomorrow." I tell him leaving the room.
