Chapter 47

The song for this chapter is The Last Time by Taylor Swift ft Gary Lightbody.

Josh's P.O.V

"What took you so long?" I ask them once they get out of George's car. "We got lost." George informs me smiling trying to cheer things up. "You didn't listen to me." Zack says angrily which makes Austin roll his eyes. "We are going in now." Austin tells us ignoring both of them and walking to the fancy glass building.

This is it about them; their station is so obvious and fancy that no one would doubt that it's for an asshole criminal but for a respectful business man instead.

We get in and the glass door automatically opens. We start walking to the reception but before we could two men wearing black suit approach us and make sure that we don't have any guns. "Good." One of them tells me before letting us go.

"Josh, huh?" The receptionist smirk and I ignore him for the sake of the reason I had to come here.

I look around to find lots of men wearing black fancy clothes staring at me in a disgusted look including the man who threatened her. I control myself before doing anything that would put our lives on risk and just look away from him.

"Our boss is waiting for you in his office." He says looking at me. "We're all going with him." Zack says. "Only him; our place our rules." He says moving his jacket revealing his gun.

"Fine." I immediately say before he could do anything.

"Let's go." He says to me and starts walking leading the way and I follow him. He gets up the stairs before knocking on a big dark wooden door. "Sir." He says before the door opens and I get in closing the door behind me and taking a deep breath before I finally see him face to face.

"Well, well, well. Look who's here." He says sitting behind his desk with a big smirk on his face and my adrenaline starts rushing.

"Seems like the threat worked out perfectly with your girlfriend, huh?" He says with the same smirk and there's nothing I want more than to beat him to death not knowing if it's because I'm finally face to face with the man who left me without a father or because of what he just said about her.

"You know, I never thought you were capable of love." He says standing before he continues.

"Which girl would fall in love with you and foolishly want to be with you? Even though she knows that it's a matter of time before she dies. Cause to be honest you were barely able to protect your father." He says walking back and forth and I feel my heart burning.

"I was just a little boy. I'll protect her with my life." I tell him and he laughs. "You know, Josh. I want nothing but to see you break. I never wanted to kill you because that would have been so easy." He says looking at me and I ignore him.

"What brought you here?" He says raising his eyebrow. "To ask you not to hurt her and to stay away from her." I tell him and he laughs. "And why would I do that?" He asks standing in front of me with the same smirk.

"Because she's Michelle.Your... your daughter." I tell him and watch the smirk on his face fade."Wha...t?" He says speechless.

"How could that have happened?" He asks angrily. "You think she's a game to mess around with. I thought you were week and blinded by revenge but fooling my daughter isn't a choice." He shouts angrily and his face turns to red.

"She's my girlfriend and you tried to hurt her so there are no rules here. And I'm here facing the man who would do anything to kill me in order to protect her. She isn't a game to me." I tell him and watch him sit down again behind his desk.

"She got kidnapped because of you?" He asks looking like the truth just hit him in the face.

"Yeah..." I answer him and he stays silent for a few seconds trying to put everything together.

"I wanted nothing but to push her away when I realized she's your daughter but then they kidnapped her and it was too late." I tell him and he nods in understanding which surprises me.

"Nothing can stop them now from hurting her and you can't protect her neither I myself." He says and my heart starts beating rapidly knowing that where this is going is my biggest fear.

"I'm not leaving her. No way." I immediately say shaking my head. "You don't have a choice. Once your boss realizes that she's my daughter he will want to hurt her too and I can't let that happen plus I'm not the only one who gives orders here. I can't just tell them to leave her alone." He says and my heart drops.

"Don't even fucking think about it. I'm not letting her go." I say raising my voice. I can't and won't allow him to take her away from me.

I can't be without her. I can't be without her.

"I know that you love her but that's the price of working like this and you can't let her pay for that, Josh. Forget the fact that she's my daughter and think of her as the girl you truly love." He tells me and I already know all this shit.

"I know that but it's too late now. Everyone knows that she means the most to me leaving her wouldn't make anything better. Trust me, I tried that and she got kidnapped because of it." I say. I can protect her, I don't want his advice. I'm not here to take it. He's the enemy; I just want him to fucking stay away from her.

"We will leave Seattle." He says as if it's a choice and no fucking way I'm letting him take her away.

"No. Fuck no. I'm not letting her runaway and live like you. Plus I'm not here to take your fucking advice; you're the enemy that I have been protecting her from. I just want you to stop hurting her." I tell him looking everywhere.

"We aren't enemies when it comes to this. Just leave her out of this shit because both of us were supposed to hurt her for being the girl you love and my daughter. We are in this together." He says in understanding.

"I loved her even though my boss would lose his mind if he realizes that she's your daughter. And you do the same. Tell them to leave her alone or else my enemies are her enemies. And I wouldn't stop at anything to protect her." I tell him and walk towards the door.

"You can't do this to her." He shouts. "You're still the enemy to me." I tell him before leaving the office after opening the damn door.

I go downstairs and walk outside the building passing through all of his slaves until I reach our cars to find them there.

"What happened?" Zack asks rushing out of George's car. "His only choice was to take her away from here." I tell him staring at the ground and Zack chuckles "And what did you say?" Austin asks in a serious tone.

"That's not a choice." I answer him. "You know nothing can stop him, right?" Austin informs me.

"Watch me." I tell him and start walking to my car. "We're here no matter what you choose to do." Zack says following me. "I know and I need you now more than ever." I tell him before getting in the car.
