Chapter 9
Michelle's P.O.V
The match finally ends and we find Chloe, Brad and Zack standing next to the lockers as they wait for George and Austin. The whole time that we have been waiting is spent talking about the match that I know nothing about other than that they managed to win.
And after ten minutes of waiting they both join us wearing different outfits. "George." Chloe rushes to hug him and he hugs her back "You were amazing." She tells him happily.
"Yes, you were definitely the man of the match." Brad tells him which makes him smile a little.
I watch as Josh stands with Zack and Austin a few steps away from me arguing about something that must be bothering him since he's frowning the entire time and I immediately look away once his eyes meet mine.
"I couldn't stay to watch the game but I'm sure you were really good." I tell George a few seconds later giving him a warm smile.
But before he could say anything to me I feel someone crashing hard into me which makes me fall on the ground.
"I'm so sorry, are you okay?" The boy asks giving me a hand. He's much taller than I and has a big body form telling me he might be a college student who came to watch the game.
"What the hell is wrong with you?" I hear someone yelling and I look over to see Josh pushing him a bit.
"I'm really sorry." The boy defends with a scared look on his face. "Watch it next time." He warns him and the boy runs out of sight.
"Are you okay?" I hear George's voice asking me and I just nod as he stares at me.
"Come on, let's get out of here." Brad suggests. "Yeah." Chloe agrees and we all leave; leaving him behind.
I get in a car with Brad and Chloe while George is the one who is driving.
"There is an after party; that's where we are going right now." George says looking at me through the mirror and I just nod.
Parties and I don't really get along. The first party I've been to was a disaster. But this time I'll be more careful than before and stay away from Sasha as far as possible.
I know that she doesn't like me but I don't blame her because she still has feelings for George. And now, that I'm no longer very close to him she'll leave me alone and stay away from me. She will have no reason to hate me or do anything to hurt me.
Fifteen minutes later he parks the car and I leave the car to find a big house full of people; it's much bigger than the last time.
We get in and I watch as two boys take George with them knowing they are his teammates since Austin is standing with the rest of them leaving me with Chloe and Brad.
"I'll be right back." Brad shouts over the music leaving Chloe and I by ourselves.
We fight our way through the crowd till we reach the kitchen. "We are staying here." Chloe says determined and I immediately nod in agreement since it's the least crowded place.
I stand against one of the kitchen cabinets next to Chloe and watch as strangers come and go to take drinks and food from the table in front of us.
"This tastes really good." Chloe screams over the loud music taking another cupcake from the table.
"Do you want one?" She offers me one and I shake my head. "No, thank you." I tell her.
"I'll be back." She tells me a few minutes later and immediately disappears into the crowd which leaves me no chance to follow her.
"By yourself?" I hear Brad's voice a minute later. "Chloe just left." I tell him searching the room for her. "I'm really not a party person." I say once I give up on finding her. "I've noticed." He says laughing nervously.
"Come on, let's join the others." He says shifting his head a bit. "What about Chloe? She said she will be back here." I tell him searching the room for her once again.
"I'm sure she's with them." He says and I nod once I give up on finding her.
He leads the way through the crowd and I follow him since I don't know where they are and enter a big red room full of video games and has a big pool table in it.
I look around searching for Chloe once we are in the crowded room. But I don't see her anywhere, instead I see him with her.
"Join us, please." Austin smirks.
I can feel my heart pulses fasten and my eyes start to water from what I'm staring at. I watch as he moves his lips with hers while her lips are pressed against his and the pain hits me like a broken glass and I let it in. I look away from them as my eyes start to water and my eyes meet George's eyes; I give him a small smile before my knees start shaking. I force myself to sit between Austin and George since it's the only empty place that isn't near Sasha and him. I breathe in and breathe out trying to make sense of this as he's still standing with her. I would have loved him more than her; I would have been his only kiss but he chose her instead. I can't breathe but I'm trying not to cry as I'm looking at him with her.
