We can't be together

You're sat on the roof of your house listening to a song. Your dad taps your shoulder. You look at him and pull your earphones out.

"Your friend is here. Jade." Your dad says.

You look over the roof ledge and see Jade. She waves. You drop off the roof.

"Hey." She says.

You pull Jade into th forrest near your house.

"Y/n what's goin on?" She asks.

"Me and you cant be together. I love you but we cant."

"W-why?" She asks.

"Because of my parents. They dont know i like girls but im pretty sure if they find out they'll disown me." You say.

"Y-Y/n i-i love you and i dont wanna end what we have." Jade says.

"I love you too and i dont wanna end it either. But i cant keep goin in secret. It's 2021 Jadey. We shouldn't have to live in secret anymore." You say.

"I know but i-i dont wanna lose you." Jade says.

"You wont lose me. We'll always be friends."

"No! Y/n! That's not what either of us!" She shouts.

You try to hug her but she shoves you.

"No! I understand that you're scared but one day, you'll have to come out to them whether you like it or not! One day, you'll get married to a woman and they'll be there! LIKE IT OR NOT!"

You just let her talk. She's right. You hug her. She tries her hardest to push you off but you just keep hold of her until she breaks down in your arms. You hold her and comfort her while she cries.

In attempts to sooth her, you gently stroke your hand through her hair. You manage to calm her down and you both just sit on the grass together.

"I'll tell them. I promise. You're right." You say.

"I just dont wanna lose what we have. I dont wanna lose you." She says.

"We wont lose what we have. And i promise you, you wont lose me." You say.

She sniffles an nods. You wipe the tears away from her face and stand up. You help her up and pull her back to your house.

"Hey Y/n."

"Hey mum. Hey dad."

You look at Jade.

"I'll be up in a minute." You say.

She nods and goes to you room.

"Can we talk?" You ask.

"Yeah sure. What's wrong?" Your mum says.

"I'm gunna be straight forward. I like girls. You can hate me all you want but i like girls and i like Jade. She-"

"Y/n we know you like girls and we're happy you finally told us." Your dad says.

"You know?"

"We've seen how you are with Jade. We've caught you sharing sneaky kisses between each other and it's cute. We're happy for you both." Your mum says.

"Oh... well... thank you.... bye!"

You run upstairs to Jade.

"You were right." You say.

"I told you." Jade says.

You smile. You sit next to her. You decide to watch a movie together.

She was right.
