The year is 2230. I've discovered time travel. Finally. It's only been 209 years since people started talking about it. And I'm the one who discovered it.

But i refuse point blank to tell a soul. I wanna test it out.

"What year do you wish to go back in time go?" The machine asks.

"2021."

The machine wires up and i grab the return pad.

"2 hours. At most." The machine states.

I grab my backpack and put the pad in the bag. I put it on, grab my phone and step into the machine.

With me only being 15, I'm extremely surprised that i figured it out.

When i arrive in 2021, I'm in a giant building that, in my time, is abandoned. What building? An office building of all places. Crazy.

A man walks over to me.

"Who the hell are you?" He ask.

"I was just leaving."

I run out of the building. I'm so used to bein in there with my friends spending the night there. It's spooky in there. When it's abandoned.

"Are you skippin school?"

I jump and turn around. Police officer.

"Jesus christ! You terrified the hell outa me officer." I say.

"Sorry young lady. You skippin school?"

"I-Is it not the six weeks holiday?" I ask

He laughs.

"Yeah I'm just messin with you young lady. Stay outa trouble."

I nod and walk away. I look around my whole town. This place looks odd in 2021.

"Excuse me?"

I look at the guy. He's holding a microphone and there's a camera guy. This musta been some form of trend in 2021.

"What's up?" I ask.

"I've been asking some people this question. Do you think time travel will happen?" He asks.

I nod.

"Yeah i do."

"When?" He asks.

"Not any time soon. If i had to hazard a guess 209 years from now. 2230. Odd date maybe, but i think the technology will be more advanced in the future." I say.

"You're smart for a kid." He says.

I shrug and walk off. While i walk, someome bumps into me.

"Sorry. I wasn't concentrating." She says

I look at her. Oh my god. She's beautiful.

"It's-uh-it's alright. Dont sweat it." I say.

I probably sound so cringy.....

"I'm Jade." She says.

"I'm Y/n."

We shake hands.

"Are you new here Y/n?" Jade asks.

"Yeah. Just moved in with my family today. Lookin around. I got booted out so i dont get under their feet while they unpack." I say.

She laughs.

"Parents do be like that." She says.

I smile.

"You have instagram?" She asks.
