Coming home *w a twist*

You're sat in your car coming home. You've been at war for almost a year. Away from your wife, Jade, and your son, Elliott.

You've had contact with letters but no calls for almost 11 months. The first months had calls but then you were all told letters only. But now, you finally get to see your wife and son again.

When you pull up into the driveway, you turn the car off, grab all your stuff and go to the front door. But you freeze. You dont know why. But you just freeze. Like.... you're scared. You take a deep breath and open the front door.

You walk in and shut the door. Jade walks into the living room and drops the bowl of cereal she has in her hands onto the floor in pure shock. You smile.

"Hey." You say.

She runs at you and jumps into your arms. You catch her and hug her. She immediately cries. Neither of you move from where you're stood for almost an hour. Just stood hugging. When you pull back from the hug, you kiss. The kiss last almost 5 minutes.

When you pull back from the kiss, you wipe away any remaining tears from her face.

"I've missed you so much." Jade says.

"I've missed you too babygirl." You say.

You both sit down and catch up on what you've missed. But she doesn't mention Elliott.... not once.

"Baby how's Elliott doing? I've missed him so much." You say.

She looks at you.

"Baby..... it's not Elliott anymore. Elliott is trans and wants to be called Emma. She came out to me the third month you were away. I know i signed all the letters 'from Jade and Elliott' but she wanted me to tell you when you got home." Jade says.

She, unvisably to you, grabs one of the cushions worried about how you'll react since you haven't said anything yet.

"Y/n?"

"So i have a daughter now?" You ask.

Jade nods. You smile.

"Where is she?" You ask.

"She's at school. It's only 3pm but she should be home soon." Jade says.

You nod.

"I'm gunna go take my bag upstairs and get changed." You say.

Jade nods. Before you stand up, she pulls your head down into a kiss. You kiss back. She pulls back and smiles.

"She'll be happy to know you accept her."

"She's my kid. Boy, girl, non-binary. Cat. Dog whatever. She's my kid and i love her." You say.

Jade smiles. You grab your bag and go upstairs. Once you're changed, you go into Emma's room and look around. You cant help but smile at how much she's grown up over the past year. It makes you happy.

You hear a gasp behind you. You turn and see Emma. You both look at each other. She backs off a little. You hug her. She hugs back.

You pull back from the hug.

"Hey Emma. I've missed you. Like a lot." You say.

Her eyes tear up. She hugs you. You hug back. You pull back from the hug first and wipe away her tears.

"I've missed you too mum." She says.

You smile. You both go downstairs.

"So! I was thinking since we haven't seen each other in a year, why dont we have a movie night tonight? Just us three. Watching whatever movie you two wanna watch. We'll get take out. Popcorn. Everything. That sound good?" You ask.

Jade and Emma nod. You smile. When it comes to watching the movie, Emma sits on the sofa while you and Jade sit on the love seat. She's sat in between your legs, layed back against you. Your arms around her waist and your head on her shoulder.

"I love you bubs." You whisper to her.

Jade smiles.

"I love you too." She whispers to you.

Yall i saw a tiktok earlier today when i started writing this one and it set me off y'know. The dad just came home from war and his kid is trans mtf and she walked into her room and saw her dad there and she was scared he was gunna hate her.

He didn't. He called her by her new name and omfg it almost made me cry.

ALSO!! UPDATE TIME! Yall know how I'm making a second book to finish off 'Challenge' between Y/n and Perrie? I should be nearly finished with it now. I'm gunna say it'll have around 12 or 13 parts and then donesies completely. Byeeeeeee :)
