"Why do you still love me? Even when you know I will completely forget you one day."
Karl laughed dryly, completely without sarcasm.
Sapnap looked at him eyes fondly looking at his boyfriend, he swears he heard his heart break, there is actually an answer. Sapnap knows that one day Karl will forget him, eventually a thousand memories will disappear like bubbles, for Sapnap it would be a memory but for Karl it would be simply nothing, Its like Karl's leaving this life to make another one. But this time there is no Sapnap, there is no Quackity, and there is no them.
But you know, what does Sapnap hold on to? He believes. He believes that Karl won't back down, that Karl will try even if it takes forever for him to remember what happened. Their first kiss, the first time they slept under the stars, their first glances, when their hearts beat together, he believes Karl's love can break time, and maybe this wouldn't be just a promise he says to himself to keep his head sane.
"Because Karl, I love you, I swore to your dad I wouldn't leave you. Until you only have one memory of me, of us. I would be forever with you, until the end of times."
And it's true, everything he just said is true, word for word.
"Why do you need to make me cry Sapnap." Karl looked up at Sapnap giving him a weak but fond smile, Sapnap looks so pretty even in the dark, he's to pretty for me he thinks. And even though Karl knows one day trying to save the world, when he can't even save his love and forget him, he'd be called a hero, for what exactly? It hurts knowing he'll forget him. It hurts that he knows but he can't stop it, it's bound to happen for fucks-sake, why? In all people he was the chosen to save everyone. But can't save the only person who he cared for.
He laughed weakly, as Sapnap looked beside him seeing a heavenly figure, he dies a little inside.
Sapnap and Karl pinky-promised each other that no one would forget anyone, Karl kissed Sapnap, which never happens, it is often Sapnap who starts, he really meant it. Sapnap's eyes go wide but he immediately kisses Karl's forehead.
They are two peas in a pod, no one can break their bond, not even time itself.
