"Jin hyung!"
Jungkook's loud voice sliced through the air as he walked toward Seokjin, who had been standing in one of the wings with his gaze fixed on the stage (on Namjoon) where the rap line was delivering a performance for the soundcheck. Now, his attention shifted to Jungkook, the boy's face laced with hesitation and unease, bottom lip caught between his teeth.
Okay, so, the thing is, Jungkook had a dream again! Yes, about Taehyung. It hadn't been as weird as the first one. Although teetering on the brink of impossibility, this one had been more realistic, and to be very fucking honest, that quality had scared the shit out of Jungkook when he had woken up. His eyes had frantically scanned his room from the vantage point of his bed, trying to find someone else who might've been present there. He could bet there was someone, otherwise, how come he had felt Taehyung's lips as if they really had been kissing?
He had really felt those warm pillowy lips on himself before they had gone full-on French. He swore he had felt it, Taehyung's tongue going past his parted lips, moving in and caressing every inch of his cavern, making his stomach take a thousand somersaults. It couldn't have felt that natural if he hadn't kissed someone in reality!
But obviously, his door had still been locked from the inside and he had found no one else in his room. He was alone in his bed, sweating and heartbeat fast.
How the hell could a dream feel so vivid and tangible?
"Yah, Jungkookie! You've come at such a perfect time." Seokjin smiled enthusiastically at him, "Want to hear a joke about construction? I'm still working on it!" Jungkook blinked once, trying to make the joke out while Seokjin started clapping his hand and laughing out loud at his own joke like it was the funniest thing ever.
"Haha..." The boy let out an awkward chuckle once he made out how unfunny the joke was (maybe he would've found it funny in other times, but not now). He managed to give the older a small smile, "Good one. But, um, hyung, I had to ask you something."
"Same." Seokjin nodded, looking serious, "Did you hear the rumour about butter? Well, I'm not going to spread it." He wiggled an eyebrow and started laughing ridiculously again.
Oh, man! Jungkook internally groaned. Why was this hyung so into dad jokes today?
"Hyung, I'm serious." Jungkook mumbled, nervously shifting his weight from one foot to the other with his clammy hands hidden inside the pockets of his hoodie, and that finally made Seokjin stop. He had just been trying to ease up Jungkook's visible nervousness (assuming it was just performance anxiety) through his jokes, but the way it clearly didn't work, it must really be something important.
So, he cleared his throat, and crossing his arms over his chest, he asked, "Okay, no more old man jokes. What is it?"
At that, Jungkook looked around a bit to make sure no one was around. From where the two of them were, he could see Hoseok, Namjoon and Yoongi telling something to their sound-operating team about their microphone volumes. The rest four of them were done with their soundcheck. So, now Jimin was with his best friend back at the green room, watching some football match on Taehyung's phone, the two best friends continuously unleashing a storm of frustrated curses that represented the disappointing performance of their favourite team.
