[Dedicating this chapter to _irishbomb_. Even if you said that you're mostly a silent reader (which I am too tbh), the way you assure me that the chapters are good and I should not be as insecure as I usually am, it really means a lot. I can't thank you enough, just know that I really value you. "Friendship is Irish Bomb" 🤭💜]

Jungkook didn't luck out on getting any sleep even after staying laid on his bed for hours till midnight.
His eyes were wide awake as he kept tossing and turning all over his once-nicely-made bed, trying out various positions to find a comfortable one, even trying counting one to hundred in his head but nothing worked. Either his pillow didn't feel cold enough or his blanket was itching his skin or...
...the thoughts of the guy in the room across the hallway were too loud.
Taehyung. He was worried about Taehyung. He didn't know if it was even valid, the thoughts that were coming to his ever-overthinking head, the worst-case scenarios - but he just couldn't put any end to it, causing the churn in his stomach to remain ceaseless as he once again tried to screw his eyes shut to sleep but had to open them with a defeated sigh after a couple minutes anyway.
Fuck this!
Jungkook sat up, running his hands over his face once before he got out of the bed, the blanket thrown aside in a pile. Maybe he could get some fresh air to help calm his mind?
Yes. At least he could try.
No sooner thought than done, he downed all the water from the bottle on his nightstand and headed towards the door to get out of his bedroom and go to the balcony, his forever safe place.
The door to Taehyung's room was closed as Jungkook came out into the dark hallway, making him want to knock on it to check on the guy even though he knew it would be stupid to do so. Taehyung could be sound asleep and disturbing him just to ask him if he was doing alright wasn't fair.
So, letting go of both a breath and his urge to knock on the door, Jungkook turned away to silently walk toward the balcony.
But as soon as he came closer to it, a very sweet smell combined with a bold one - almost as if they didn't sit together well but still created something tantalizing - hit his nostrils. It was unfamiliar, more so unexpected at this hour of night. What was going on?
With the skin between his eyebrows slightly creased and hands lifted in front of himself in a self-defending posture (just in case), Jungkook slowly and cautiously stepped inside the balcony. But no sooner did he do so, his steps faltered, hands falling by his side and jaw slackening to see the sight that welcomed him.
Taehyung was sitting on one of the wicker chairs, body leaning loosely against its back and eyes closed as he breathed through his parted lips, white shirt messily untucked from his faded blue jeans and unbuttoned upto his chest.
