The bartender, Seojoon, turned out to be gay.

And Taehyung was, needless to say, surprised. It wasn’t every day that he came across someone being so straightforward about their taboo preferences while conversing with a complete stranger, especially in a low-key Korean pub like this. Maybe gay-dar really was a thing. Well, not like Taehyung had exactly been hiding his own orientation, blatantly flirting with tons of innuendos while he downed drink after drink, trying out whatever new concoctions Seojoon suggested.

But being surprised be damned, this was a golden opportunity and he wasn't about to let it go. Seojoon was attractive, no doubt about it — with his little dimple when he smiled and eyes twinkling like he was always on the edge of making a joke or pulling some kind of trick with the drinks — and when he let slip that he was down for a one-night stand, Taehyung didn’t hesitate any longer. He needed the change and it came all so easy—too easy to resist.

So, without much fanfare, he let Seojoon lead him to the supply room in the back.

It was fast. It was messy. And it was everything Taehyung had been craving, the kind of sex that didn’t need to be meaningful, just satisfying.

Once they finished, they were back at the main pub, a little winded and cheeks tainted as Seojoon resumed his shift and Taehyung resumed sipping on more drinks, lazy and not at all in a rush to go back to his apartment. Fuck it if he was going to get a hangover. He didn't care if he would miss his first few classes at uni the next day.

"One Negroni for my almost-favourite customer of the night." With a flourish, Seojoon set down the Negroni he had ordered, sliding it toward him across the bar.

"'Almost?'" Taehyung raised an eyebrow, his lips curling into a smirk. He leaned in as he wrapped his long fingers around the glass, not caring to lower his voice because the crowd and the jazz music playing in the background was loud enough for his words to be audible to only Seojoon, "Babe, I had you shaking and gripping the shelves for dear life back there. What more do I need to do?"

Seojoon’s grin widened, his eyes sparkling with mischief. He leaned against the counter, casually wiping his hands on his apron, "Well, I wouldn’t say no to a round two. Or at least a generous tip."

This. This is why Taehyung liked him far better than his last hook-up. Mijoo, was it?

He let out a low chuckle, teasing in his tone, "Bit greedy, aren’t you?"

Seojoon didn’t miss a beat, a sly smile on his lips as he shrugged, "Is it greedy if I know what I want?"

That question was charged with a mix of humour and coquetry, but it hit Taehyung harder than he expected, in a way that was not at all lighthearted, making his smirk falter. He opened his mouth, albeit suddenly unsure of what to respond, but before he would have to find any words, Seojoon’s phone buzzed in his pocket. The bartender fished it out, shot a quick glance at the screen, then excused himself with an apologetic smile to step away to a corner, putting the device to his ear.
