[Dedicating this chapter to PurpleSoul7777777. Through the past year and two months, even when I wasn't here, unable to get my shit together so that I could properly write a chapter and update, alongside so many other precious readers, you stayed. To this day, I wonder what you guys found in my story to show it so much love, to reread it so many times while waiting for me to come back for so long. I could say I'm sorry, but I know an apology is not going to fix it. So, here's a chapter of 38K words as a negligible attempt at making up for it. To everyone who stayed, and to the ones who came later, thank you from the bottom of my heart for all the sweet comments and encouraging messages. I hope you can feel at least a little portion of the immense gratitude and love I have for all of you, for making my silly little story reach 31K reads! Thank you for staying here even in my lows. ❤️]

[P. S. Buckle up, you're up for a 38K-words-long 'rollercoaster' ride. See you at the end of it🏃‍♀️]

"The wait is over, everyone...I just received a message from Kangdom."

A mixture of curses and gasps echoed through the dance studio as soon as those words escaped Namjoon's lips, making them all – including Taehyung – sit up straight in an instant, while Jungkook's heart jumped up to his throat.

So, his guess had been correct? This day really bore the possibility of changing the trajectory of their lives?

The prospect of signing with an entertainment agency had been their dream for a long time— perhaps too high a hope for a band who had started with minimal resources and only a handful of YouTube subscribers for a 'fandom', but even so, they had wished for a breakthrough, for a bigger stage, louder cheers, the recognition and validation of more people...maybe from all over the world.

And today, all those earnest wishes, rigorous practice hours and long recording sessions were culminating in the neatly folded piece of paper that Namjoon carefully took out of the envelope, his fingers slightly trembling.

Jungkook felt his throat drying at the sight of it, his stomach churning as his mind took him back to the night of their concert. With how it had ended and all the tumultuous events that had ceaselessly followed ever since, he hadn't gotten enough break to ponder on how he had messed up on stage, failing to be at his full potential and disrupting the overall harmony of their group.

Why were you overdoing it so much up there? Even from the same stage, it felt exaggerated, Jungkook-ah. I can only assume how mechanical your moves might've looked from the audience.
