The sounds of birds and laughter are the first thing I notice as I begin to wake. Light shines brightly through my eye lids and I have to look away in order to adjust to my new surroundings.

Once I've finally returned to my senses, I see Team 7 talking amongst each other. My favorite blonde is still smiling, and I can't help but be relieved at his liveliness. Next to him sits Sasuke, who thankfully is also alive. Both their chakra levels are extremely low, and I assume their fight wasn't an easy one. Naruto also must've won, seeing as Sasuke isn't trying to destroy the entire village.

As I rub my eyes, I hear Naruto shout out to me, "Madi! You're finally awake!"

In a slow manner, I make my way to the boys being healed by Sakura. At first I assume it's just minor cuts and bruises, but all up their arms are burns and scratches. With more of a rush, I position myself at Naruto's side and he gives me a wide eyed smile. Tears poor down Sakura's face, and I think they're a mix of happy and sad.

When I see the onyx haired boy, I remember our last encounter, and quickly turn away. It hurts to look at him, knowing I couldn't be the one to save him. It needed to be Naruto, but I still couldn't help but feel betrayed.

Naruto laughs and I place his head on my knees, ruffling his hair. The blonde talks a lot, with an occasional word from Sakura, but Sasuke and I mostly just listen. I truly begin to wonder if this is what it would feel like to have a team. I've missed the feeling of comfort people brought me, and a smile blooms on my face. It would be selfish of me to be sad in this situation, so I plaster on a fake grin.

Naruto can't see my face, and Sakura is fooled by my expression, but Sasuke gives me a sorrowful look.

His eyes lock with my own before he says anything. "Madevila. I'm sorry for everything, and I swear to never hurt you again."

It's true that words can hurt, but the opposite can be said too. The words spoken by the Uchiha seem to bring a warmth to me, and the tears starting to form in my eyes aren't from sorrow, but from joy.

"Hell, you better be. I woke up with a real migraine," I joke and grab my head.

Everyone laughs, even Sasuke. You can see how much he is regretting everything, and I would love nothing more than to pull him into a hug.

So that's exactly what I do.

Naruto sits up and I make my way to Sasuke. He seems surprised by my sudden movement, but his questions are answered when I pull him close to me and he nuzzles his head in the crevice of my neck and shoulder.

Toying with me, he begins to kiss the spot, as he knows it's sensitive. In a panic, I shoot to my feet and send a glare Sasuke's way. A smirk grazes his lips, and then everyone stands up after me.

"We have to release the jutsu now," I tell Naruto and Sasuke. Sakura stands back as the three of us do the jutsu, and a flashing light gets sent throughout the land.

We're unsure if it worked, until we make our way back to the battlefields, to see everyone come to life.

It's been about a week and a half since the war ended, and Konoha was basically rebuilt already.

Kakashi has been deemed the Sixth Hokage, and Team 7 and I sit together in his office.

"Madevila, I know you were close with Neji so I'll allow you to come to his funeral before you begin your two years of solitude. As for you Sasuke, I'll give you the choice of whether you'd like to attend the funeral, or start immediately."

Sasuke and I have been told already by Kakashi what our consequence is for betraying the Leaf. It's lighter than it would normally be considering our efforts to stop the war, but we both still deserved a punishment.
