"Okay so we have the test results. And we have some devistating news. Calum, I'm sorry but I'm sorry to break the news that, you have cancer. You have stage 3 lung cancer. I'm sorry."
Everyone in the room went silent. There was a sad expression blastered on everybody's faces. Calum on the other hand began hysterically crying.
"Why me?? Why me? Why did it have to come to this?? I'm going to die....."
"Excuse me Calum, but you're not gonna die. There's an 73% chance you'll beat cancer. As long as we start your treatment right away, than you'll be fine. I'll have an oncologist come and consult with you right away. Let me step out for a second."
(Marie leaves the room)
"dont worry calum, we'll be right by your side, through this whole thing. we promise you."
(marie and the oncologist walk in)
"Hello, I'm Dr.Goldberg and I will be the one helping you fight this cancer."
'Thank you, I want to be healthy enough to play shows.'
"Calum, thats going to be hard the first rounds of chemo are going to be hard. You're body has to adjust to the treatments."
"How many rounds will I be getting a month?"
"Well I'd say about 20. Within the week span you'll loose your hair. And in 2 weeks you'll be completely bald, I'm so sorry."
Michael, Luke and Ashton had tears in their eyes they couldn't believe what was going on. They're going to have to watch their best friend get sicker and sicker and there's nothing they can do about it. Thats the sad part of it all.
"I'm going to get your first round of chemo, but first I need Nurse Marie to but a introvenus (IV) in your arm so we can give you the treatment."
"Thank you."
Once Dr. Goldberg left the room, there was dead silence. Clearly it was very hard for everyone to process what was going in.
"How am i supposed to tell my parents?" Calum blurted out.
"We called your parents a few hours ago and their coming here to the hospital. We didn't tell them any information yet."
'Okay Calum, the IV is in and now I will hook you up to the chemo. You will be having some side effects, like vomiting, headache, stomach ache, body aches, fever, chills and sweats. Once the pain really kicks in I will give you some pain relievers."
**3 hours later**
