lukes pov:

it was the next morning, finally 24 hours were up. i woke up to the sound of calum's bed getting rolled down the hallway. he was on his way to the OR, to get the tubes removed from his lungs. everyone says its not a big deal, to me it is. its surgery. every surgery has risks no matter what. and in calums case if anything goes wrong it can be very crucial. his immune system was weakened to the point that his body won't be able to fight off the common cold let alone an infection from an operation gone wrong, he can die, i don't want that.

calum's pov:

i woke up at noon, it hurt to breathe. it even hurt to move. i had a cat scan schedualed for 1pm and im hoping i progressed in some way. i want to. the lads and my parents and my sister aren't allowed in until they give me medication to rebuild my immune system. i cant be exposed to that many germs all at once or that will cause problems.

1pm. calum was finally going for his CAT scan. woohoo!

2pm. Marie walks into Calums room with the rest of the boys, Cals parents and his sister.

2:10pm. Marie reveals some news.

maries pov:

"Hello. Sorry for keeping you all waiting for so long. I finally got your results back from the radiology department, we're a bit low on help today. Shall we get to the results? Ok, there was slight improvement this time. Which is amazing for a stage 3 cancer patient. The tumors are still fairly large. Your lungs seemed to improve, you can sing and talk and now you can breathe on your own so i guess someone above us is working magic on you. Starting tomorrow we'll give you more chemo-which your body will be well adjusted to by now. And than the day after tomorrow I'll give you another intense radiation treatment and than i'll see from there if i can send you back home to australia. i'm going to step out now. i'll leave you privacy with your friends and family. ok?
