Calum was in the hospital for a week. He didn't perform in any of the New York, New Jersey, or Conneticut shows, sadly. 1 week later 5SOS was in Boston, Massachusetts. Cal hated to miss shows. It made him feel guilty. Calum's doctors back in Sydney ordered that he wasn't allowed any type of cancer treatment until he was back home so his kidney function can turn back to normal. Unfortunately, what worried Dr. Alexis was that if they left the tumors alone would they spread or get bigger? That was a growing concern. If the tumors grow bigger in the lungs that increases the chances of it suffocating him to death. This is why now Dr. Alexis was speaking to the doctors of Boston Medical Center and seeing if they'd put Cal on a trial treatment. In a lot of places it was legal now. And it may benefit Calum in some ways. They we're going to let him try medical marijuana. Of course theres some risks that go with that. But there not as bad as chemotherapy is. Hos trial would start now on the 8th of September and end on December 2nd of this year. Now if it were to work like its supposed to than thats what he'll be on till the tumors shrink or disappear. Thats what they'll be aiming for. There's always that chance where if Calum does beat cancer it might come back. And if it comes back it can be deadly. He was told that its a possibility it can spread to his heart, stomach, intestines., ect. If that were to actually happen in the near future than he'd be going through many, many surgeries and a lot of radiation therapy. And that potentially can end his music career for life. Which is sad. Now besides the medical marijuana there will also be other medications he'd be on. 7 prescription drugs twice a day everyday. And now by the time they get into Louisville, Kentucky in a few days Calum will be getting a biopsy of his lungs, bones, bone marrow, brain and muscles just to make sure theres no cancerous tumors hiding anywhere else in his body. All I can say right now, as a mother is good luck Cal, I love you. I hope you beat cancer.
