TW: Toxic Draco

- BELLE -

I honestly don't know how long I've been staring at this fire for. Studying each flame wisp its ends into thin air. Irregular wafts of warmth breezing through me.

Slowly but surely, I'll be dozing off for another nap. The inconvenience of having nothing to do and a lot more worse that the person you share company with is perhaps the most antisocial and psychopathic person you've ever known.

His silence is not only more uncomfortable than nails on a chalkboard, but I could see him out of the corner of my eye, peaking at me.

Only for a few seconds though.

My mind travels to him, eyes locked in place at the flames, thinking about how he choked me earlier that morning and how my bawls had been swallowed.

Draco Malfoy would have no care in the world, he could be in a gimp suit and he'd still terrify me.

Goosebumps pimpled my skin at the recollection of his palm grasping my throat. Like a dementor's kiss, he retrieved all joy and life out of the atmosphere.

His broad, naked chest pressed against me. Almost skin on skin. The thin layers of fabric between us both.

I could practically feel his groin through his underwear rubbing against mine, sucking the life out of me just from the tips of his fingers.

Just the idea alone had my skin flaring hot and I could feel my cheeks burn like it hadn't been the fire.

But suddenly, I heard him shuffle a nasal laugh, making me turn my head to face him. His eyes plastered on the book and my brows immediately furrowed inward.

How can a book about Astrology be so funny? There's nothing funny about stars...

To avoid falling into a slumber early or any more awkwardness within seconds, I rose to my feet and walked towards the front exit of the cabin.

As soon as I stepped outside, my face was hit with another pang of heat. A different type though. Much better one now that I was alone too.

From the natural source of light itself this time and I couldn't help but grin as I took a deep inhale of the autumnus air.

Rain, salt and damp leaves filled my senses. A smell I could happily get used to. A gentle reminder of the upcoming wintertide.

The Daily Prophet suggests that this year it ought to be one of the coldest. All backed up by Astrologists and Seers. It was heavily warned to wrap up warm and I couldn't help but feel a little nervous.

Especially since I didn't have my wand, it wasn't like I could just naturally cast a warming charm. I'd be stuck with pure luck and my cabin's fireplace, multiple layers and lots of hot tea.

Thankfully and currently, the temperatures were bearable. But I knew that in the coming hours, once the stars showed their crowns, the coldness would overwhelm me.

I jolted forward and sat on a log, facing the lake and taking in the deep oranges and dark pinks of the sky.

Nothing could beat a view like this and I was thoroughly grateful that I got to witness this on the daily.
