Seconds were not to be wasted. Not with such a short time span, we had already lost a few weeks thanks to Ratman and his vindictive posse.

And although things seemed too good to be true, I refused to grasp the negativity and let me weigh it down with my personal matter of contention.

Ultimately, the main goal was to get to Loch Lomond alive and well. Even if a fews limbs ought to go missing.

Tana had given us some food along the way. Nothing too luxurious but enough to keep us energized. A bag of almonds, two loaves of bread and half a rabbit she caught from the snares she built in the forest beside her home.

She wasn't rich in what she could provide, but it was certainly better than what we had collected ourselves.

Theo joined us on our journey (not by choice exactly.) - and no matter how much pain or guilt flushed through Draco's veins, he did not want Nott to be with us. He made that incredibly obvious.

Regardless if they were friends back in Hogwarts, his presence to him was a nuisance.

It was a radioactive wave interruption that diverted his signaling into hiding behind cement walls.

That day, in the first hour of our journey up north, Draco mindlessly told me that we shouldn't mention anything of Voldemort's reign or our escape. The more questions we could avoid, the better alternative.

However, just because we barely spoke, did not entail that Theo was the same. He, if anything, could speak for the country and its mother.

I enjoyed listening. Draco on the other hand-

He was a volcano.

Rumbling and angry. Raging, actually. Ready to explode. Same old moody Draco that he was with me at first.

His murky ashes would haunt the sky, revelling its darkness as it continued to spew its hatred. He was a cluster of natural disasters.

In some instances, I was glad I could be the storm that eased him and brought him light.

We walked through the library of shrubs. All hairless, taking thick coats of snow that rested at the shins of our legs. With an extra pair of socks and another layer of jumpers and tops, my bones still fell aged and rusty.

The tips of my toes burned and shots of electrifying volleys pulsed from them, up my calves and into my thighs with each step.

Pow. Pow. Pow.

Branches and twigs snapped beneath our boots, crunches of snow that rained layers upon layers. Right now, the snow was at our shins, three quarters of the way up to our knees.

I had to keep my mind distracted from the pain. Which was where I was glad that we had Theo. Because the only distraction that Draco and I could happily mindle in, wouldn't exactly help us on our journey.

"So where exactly are you guys heading to?" Theo skipped along, his flamboyant curls prancing against the thinness of the breeze.

"Scotland," Draco bluntly replied, teeth clattering from his mask.

We were around half way across England already. Perhaps a few kilometres over the border of Manchester.

"Stop walking on the crunchy leaves," Draco growled.
