- BELLE -

I don't know what compelled me to do it.

It must've been the years I hadn't seen them. The fact that I had finally seen them alive. And I could imagine Draco cursing the least lighthearted things to me already.

His footsteps echoed behind me, thunder by thunder.

Passing the rusted metal fence with open gates where at the top, Temple Village was craved in.

Then, as I beamed closer, Ron and Hermione turned before widening their eyes. I wasn't sure if it was pure horror or shock. But they would know it was me in a heartbeat.

My pacing slowed and the couple stared at me in silence. Until Hermione took a few soft steps forward, swapping glances with me.

The cold hard ground crunching beneath her brown boots, eyes crinkled as if they were smiling where tears threatened to drop.

She said, her voice softer than a whisper, like a dove's feather, 'Belle?'

And I returned my smile. Greeting her silently. Shoulders instantly relaxed as I stared at my alive best friend who'd been missing for years.

But just before I could even muster a response, screams from a child silenced the whole village. Even the birds stopped singing.

Dogs began to growl and bark, snide teeth showing their threats and fur arched outward like a hedgehog, threatening an attack.

Everyone's focus turned to the child who was no older than six, screaming and pointing. Pinkened cheeks and sob stained lips as she stared in another direction.

More screams slowly filled, joining the child until I heard the one thing I hadn't thought of.

'Ghost is here! Everyone inside!'

People woe'd and bellowed. Children were torn from the outside by their mothers and ran inside their shackled buildings.

The more prominent men locked themselves outside, wands at the ready, pointing right at Malfoy's body.

And my face dropped as I watched Draco, his mask still on, in the middle of the - now - empty village; his head turned around, facing the potentiality of death abiding him.

Clouds greyed and fog began to appear in vision. The sight was ghastly. It frightened me.

Temple Village was no place that felt like home.

Draco immediately cursed to himself before jolting to the left and towards a tall building like the breath of wind. A shadow and ghost in the might.

Flashes of white and green shot at him like lightning.

More yells and incantations were thrown, echoing in the silence of the village. Where the ground rumbled, the men began to chase and protect what they labelled as their sacred grounds.

Were they trying to kill him?

I'm not very well liked here. His voice echoed inside my mind.
