I'm actually so nervous about this chapter.

- BELLE -
I'm welcomed back to the light of darkness and the screams of the evening winds. Although slightly muffled, wherever I am, the buzz of crickets and cicadas vibrate in my ears.
Sometimes there's a snap, only irregularly. As though a big log had been snapped in half at the edge of a knee. It doesn't make me flinch, but it's enough to remind me that it is familiar to that of snapping bones. Bones from the skeleton of a great home as it collapses.
It's mixed in with a dull ache to the side of my head and my spine feels stiff as though nails had been twisted in to keep me frozen in place.
I don't remember much. Only the flashes and combustion of the ground as everything shatters.
But something inside my chest tells me to not even bother looking for the memories for they are too painful to recollect. So I listen to whoever it is. Maybe it was it.
A warmth cradles my left hand, a delicate tickle on the outer shell of my palm until something cosier and wet pecks the wounded skin. My eyes feel heavy, but my strength grows. It is ever growing.
Turning my head slowly to meet the person coddling me, causing my throat to hum. And as my lids peel open, cracked with tiredness and pain, I hear a short gasp. Suddenly the warmth directs from my hand to both of my cheeks.
"Belle?"
That voice.
So sharp and sweet it stabs me in the throat. But I'm not sure if it's from the delicacy and indulgence of it or because it makes me want to cry.
It reminds me of pain but swarms me with butterflies. Like a shower of rose petals as I lay on the soft silks of a large bed. It crowns me as the queen and an insulting amount of emotion possesses me.
"Belle, darling, you're alright. Everything's alright. You're safe now." The familiar voice whispers.
Vision clears minute by minute. The puzzle pieces contort into the final shape and picture, now clearer than ever, I watch Draco's hesitant smile tremble with the ocean pooling his eyes.
So silver and beautiful. Swirls of silver, so rich and infused that anyone could get lost. Yet I am the girl lucky enough to do it more often than others.
"Dr-"
"-Shh. One second, here." He hands me a glass of water and helps me drink. Two gulps and it's empty.
I take a longer look at him as he sets it aside. His eyes are beautiful, but surrounded by deep blue and violet bags as they droop. His lips are drier and I can see on the inner most part that they are soaked in red from where he chewed it.
Draco leans in close to me again, our foreheads resting. And it's a short while until I realise that the last time we had spoken- argued- we left things sour.
And that bitterness still eats at me as if it had melted my skin into its fourth layer.
I want to hate him right now. I could do it. Effortlessly; for everything he said to me. But right now all I wanted was a tight hug. An I missed you kiss and to be told that everything right now was actually happening.
He reads my mind without committing the act, leaning forward and softly presses his lips onto mine.
"Is this real?" I whisper against his mouth. Eyes squeezed shut. "This isn't a dream?"
