- BELLE -
Draco helped me with Occlumency almost that entire day. It was the only way we could kill time whilst we waited for the sun to settle.
He had been particularly bitter with the fact that we were now behind schedule. It would set us back and put us at greater risk of getting caught. His demeanour clearly was organised and pristine.
So anything that came along and disbanded his list of order, he tried hard not to crack. Only a few times he would huff in silence.
'You're not trying hard enough!' He would spit, followed by a groan of selflessness.
'It's not that bloody hard, come on!'
And perhaps his favourite word. One I truly hated and wanted to rip his tongue out for doing so. Again.
This was possibly the twentieth time he said it. And I don't know how I hadn't punched him in the face yet. I was trying my hardest and yet still it wasn't good enough for him.
It was like he was expecting me to pick up everything like a machine. Unfortunately for him, I wasn't bred to become an assassin like he was. A pawn for Voldemort. That wasn't me.
I was here to promote peace, to live my life and save others. Spread happiness and all. He was the darkness and I was like light. He was the devil and me an angel.
Like Yin and Yang.
We were polar opposites. But we tried to make it work. We molded together somehow. Because we were still breathing. Surviving.
But I had only convinced myself that it was for the pure selfishness of pure survival. Nothing else.
As the sunset began to close, the darkness welcomed itself and I was finally free from Draco's teaching prison.
'Don't think you can rest, I want you to squeeze the walls open and closed so you build up strength.' Draco demanded, wrapping his dark cloak over him and curling it over his head.
I followed and mirrored, nodding in silence and began practicing. Draco didn't want any arguments and I was just the same. So, I listened and continued.
As we reached the edge of the alcove, the winterous breeze hit the skin that was exposed to nature. Everything else, warming with the deepness of my breath.
'Keep light on your feet, move fast and avoid the crunchy leaves.'
'But I love the crunchy ones.' I pouted.
'Shut the fuck up and listen to me or I'll cut your fucking tongue out.' He glared at me through his mask and immediately I shrunk into myself.
It was a tough situation we were in and I just wanted to bring some lightness. Some humour. To which I guessed Draco had none.
Perhaps he was right. It wasn't the place for jokes. These can commence once we reach Loch Lomond. However, it made me think of the cabin.
The cabin in the woods.
