Hello friends! Back again with another update. I'm hoping to continue to put out at least one per month. I have a lot of stories going right now but really want to finish this one. Thank you so much to everyone who has continued with this story after such a long break. I genuinely appreciate all your support, votes and comments. Seriously, you guys are the reason I came back to this story - plus Jo and Daryl.
Happy Reading!

<><><><><>I came awake to the sound of men's voices. Somehow they seemed to be both near by and far away, surrounding me.
"We had to get off the road, out of the forest, and still..."
Had it been Rick or Daryl speaking I probably wouldn't even have noticed. But these were stranger's voices. Strangers were dangerous.
"Maybe we didn't do it in time."
My head was pounding and even their hushed tones hurt. I grimaced and forced my eyes open. The lids felt too heavy and it took more effort than it should have. It had been so long since I rested. Even the brief respite of being knocked out had been a welcome relief.
"Yeah, maybe we did."
The dim light of the bar burned my oversensitive eyes. I slow blinked as I waited for my vision to clear and the pain to stop. My body felt sluggish and unresponsive. I had been pushing myself too hard the last few days and now it was catching up to me. I never should have come out here.
"Maybe they don't look so great because we hacked off a part of them."
My tired brain suddenly caught up and processed the words that had been floating around me. They were talking about whether or not their friends would turn. I was trapped and helpless with people who had been bitten. Adrenaline shot through my body and I jerked like a puppet whose strings had been pulled.
"We aren't just gonna leave them here!" one of the men exclaimed.
My eyes snapped open. I was sitting on the floor behind the bar. There was a semicircle of Saviors not twenty feet from me. I was trapped by the Saviors. Panic clawed it's way up my throat. If they were here, Negan might not be far behind. I had to get out of here.
I jerked on my hands and the ropes pulled tight, digging into my skin. The pain helped me focus, helped me calm. These were the Saviors who had been at Hilltop. They hadn't had a chance to catch up to the others yet. These were the Saviors Morgan and I had been hunting.
I glanced to my right and saw Morgan beside me. His presence calmed me a little more. I had come to help keep Morgan in control. If I totally lost it we were both in trouble.
Morgan was already awake and studying the men across the room with cold, dead eyes. Morgan had come here to kill them, being tied up clearly hadn't changed his plans. On my other side Rick was still slumped over, unconscious.
I recognized the ring leader of the group of Saviors. Travis's long, greasy, blonde hair was unmistakeable. He had been the most outspoken and combative when they were back in the cage, and it was clear not a lot had changed.
Travis scoffed and gestured to the two men laying on the ground in pools of blood. "Look at them, they're already dead," he snapped coldly.
Another of the men swallowed and immediately stepped up to Travis's side. "He's right. They knew the rules. You pooch it, nobody carries you." It sounded like he was reciting something he had been told over and over.
