Chapter 32 continued...

Xander's POV

I was spending some quality time with Bran and his mate waiting for my beta to arrive. However, it didn't last long seeing as a girl barged into the room. To say I was stunned would be an understatement.

"Are you guys really going to act like everything is damn normal?" She spat, running her hand through her long brown hair. I could feel every cell in my body get agitated.

"What is it now Stacy?" Bran questioned, monotonously.

"What do you mean? Are you kidding me right now? What the heck was Shane thinking? Threats aren't supposed to be taken without due consideration! Why did they go alone?" I don't know why, but I couldn't take my eyes off of her. Listening to her vent her frustration got my wolf all hot and bothered.

"Don't you dare speak to my mate with that tone you bit-" I growled warningly at Ashley before she could utter one more word against my girl. Yes, she's mine. Now, I know why my wolf was all worked up as she entered. I sensed her delicious scent now.

"Mine" I growled pulling her to me.

"Oh please can you not right now?" with that she pulled herself out of my tight grip around her waist. As her words processed through my mind the feeling of hurt and rejection is what I felt. I felt my wolf whimper with sorrow.

"take this Bran" she handed him a paper, which I assume was another letter - giving him a pointed look then she stormed out, leaving me there all confused with one question on my mind.

"What... just happened?"

Shane's POV

"Also another thing I want to add is...I made a very bad decision at first, but I never meant to hurt you. I was just trying to keep you out of all this. I just thought you would walk away on me too. Not like that's an excuse but..."

As I assured her with everything I wanted her to know, I begin to get off the blanket. The choice is now hers. I'll give her as much time as possible. However, her gentle touch on my arm stopped me from doing so.

"I'm never leaving you" she stated, quietly. "Even though you don't know how to handle a date" this caused me to chuckle. Damn she is so right this is so not how I planned. "I'm always going to stand by your side. It wasn't your fault. Yes, I was hurt - very hurt, but that doesn't mean I'll hold it against you. We are happy now and that's how it's supposed to be."

I couldn't believe this girl. She's too good for me. Every moment when I pushed her away and hurt her was forgiven just like that.

She raised an eyebrow reading my mind "damn right!" with that she pulled me in for a kiss. I lifted her off the ground as she wrapped her legs around my waist. Pulling back, I continued to pepper kisses down her jaw to her neck. A soft moan escaped her throat as I sucked on the mark. I would want to continue, but then I had to show her what I got her before I forget. However, that was one hell of a kiss. She groaned as I placed her down causing me to smirk.

"As much as I wanna continue princess, I got something for you" with that I took out a small box from my pocket. I noticed how her eyes widen as she stares at the tiny box in my hand.

"Don't worry it isn't that" I laughed. "This..." I held her delicate hand placing a kiss on top of it "is a promise ring baby. Even though I know you've been kind enough to forgive me for all my mistakes... I'll spend every day treating you like my princess to make it up to you. I promise to put you before anyone and protect you no matter what. As cliché as it sounds- I mean every word of it" with that I slid the ring on her finger, pulling her in my embrace.

The rest of the night was just spent like that cuddling with my beautiful mate and talking about absolutely random things, but something told me this was just the serenity before a storm.

A/N: Hopefully you guys liked the chapter. It shows how Evelyn's and Shane's relationship is slowly taking a new step, but will it last? Although, I'm sorry for late update! :(
