"Be careful little birdy, who knows what will happen once your protections wears off."
Swirled through my mind in bold and italics. I knew that they were dangerous and I knew they were after me, but being in this cabin gave me a layer of protection. I felt safe and sound, and I did not think for a moment, they knew where I was located.
Davy was calm that night I discreetly showed him my text. He said some stupid dumb code phrases that allowed Perris and Beau to know we weren't alone.
The moment that it was announced to them, both of them took a deep breath and slowly wrapped up the conversation.
Beau promised us, "I'll do the best I can... just keep her safe until then. I'll reach out to you."
Perris seriously nodded his head and took a deep breath. Davy immediately headed out of the woods with me and into the safety of our cabin. Swiftly, he sent out an alert that I was being watched and that we weren't alone.
I felt like everything was moving in a fast pace, I could hardly keep up. That same night, all of my cousins, my parents, Perris and I convened in the living room to come up with a game plan. I was pretty much silent and I only listened for key words like "Well she can't stay here any longer, we are compromised," and other than that I just looked out of the window as it continued to pour down.
My breath was making the windows fog over, but the glass was supporting my forehead, successfully taking me out of the world I was in.
Ultimately, Xander ending making a strong argument and one that I agreed with. "She is at-risk no matter what we do. Let her go back home and we will just have to amp up security."
"No."
"Fuck no!"
"That doesn't make sense."
Here we go again.
"Well she can't stay here anymore because she isn't safe here either!" Xander snapped, throwing his arms in the air in exhaustion. "We all know we will be relocating forever."
"But having her go back home also puts the twins in harms way too." BJ made a good point calmly and sighing afterwards.
"They are already in danger because if they can't get their hands on Serena, they will start selling for the boys soon." Xander argued, scaring me to my core.
My eyes shot open and I turned my head to look him. "They wouldn't, would they?"
He sighed and gave me a very partial look. "Unfortunately they would... so just let her go back home." he continued to try to prove his point.
"Maybe not going back home, but back home may be better." Davy agreed with Xander. "We could locate her in our estates over there. The lodge? She could stay there with the twins where there is always 24/7 security and it's really hard to get in, but even harder to get out. During school hours, no one is going to bother her because there is too many people. She may as well go back to her regular life."
I looked at mom and dad, whom looked like they would rather cut off their big toes and eat it for dinner. However, they looked like they were considering the idea. Like maybe Davy had reached them.
"I don't like it. I really really don't." my dad was the first to announce his true disdain for Davy's plan. He nodded his head swiftly with pursed lips. "But nothing sounds good right now. As far as I am concerned, Davy's plan seemed like the best so that's what we will go with."
Xander shut his eyes as soon as he heard my dad's words. West's face clouded with instant worry and he nodded his head.
Davy smirked and nodded his head one good time. He went away with his phone in his hands, starting to come up with the arrangements.
