The door handle rattled and my eyes immediately fell on the entrance of this quaint little villa. I started to shake, vision blurred with tears with the realization that I was not home. I was nowhere near home.
I swallowed while my eyes widened. In the short amount of time I had, I looked around the kitchen for something to stab the stranger with anything. But before I could even open a drawer, the door opened and a large man walked through.
My large man.
Sorry not my large man, but a familiar large man. My chest instantly settled with relief and my breath normalized.
It was Perris coming in with a bag filled with food, aromas that reached my nose. He had a neutral expression on his face and only responded slightly when he saw me standing there with wide eyes.
"Perris." I called his name, sounding more breathy than I wanted it to be.
"Serena." he replied, blinking a couple of times. "You are awake."
"What the fuck am I doing here? Where is here?" I asked, taking steps closer to him. I needed his presence closer to me so I could be wrapped in that comfort. "Did you kidnap me?"
That last question wasn't accusatory, it was almost humorous because I knew that he wouldn't harm me.
The corners of his lips raised for the quickest second. "Well technically- I mean. Well not just me at least." he answered and I couldn't help but take a step back.
"I'm sorry?" I asked, becoming a little weary of what was occurring. My most went dry for a moment and my eyebrows knitted together.
"Well technically it was me and KJ." he told me and that caused the relief to start flowing again. Surely, Perris and KJ would make sure that nothing bad happened to me.
"Where are we?" I asked, looking a bit more gentle and relaxed, but still confused. "How long have I been out?"
"Arricia, Italy." he answered, walking around me and dropping off the bags with food on the kitchen counter. "You have only been out for a couple of hours. Like eight maybe..."
"So you guys drugged me at the club?" I questioned, nodding my head in disbelief. "That's kinda hard to believe."
Once the bags were dropped off on the counter, he combed his har back in a swift motion with a sigh. "We needed you here in order for the plan to be completed."
I swallowed and didn't understand what was going on. "What plan? No one has let me in on any plan."
"We needed you to be unaware." he explained to me, leaning against the cold marble countertop. "It was better that way."
I just stared at him, blinking in confusion. "Why? I'm lost. Can you tell me the plan now?" I questioned with raised brows.
Perris took steps until he was standing directly in front of me. His presence alone was giving me comfort. Making me feel like I was okay and even though I was confused, I knew I was safe. I have craved his presence for such a long time. I have craved the way we have been together since that night we made love.
I looked into his eyes and listened to him carefully. "Serena, you don't have to marry Frances. You don't have to if you don't want to." he told me with a small smile on his face. Hope spread across his face and for the quickest second, it spread across my heart.
"I don't?"
His smile grew a little bigger a she nodded his head. "You don't." he expressed.
"So what do I have to do?"
