Calum

Being away at University when your boyfriend Calum got to tour the world with his four best friends seemed to be a bit unfair. You wanted to share this with him, be there with him… hearing about it on the phone or through video chat just wasn’t cutting it for either of you. That is why two weeks ago Calum had said he was preparing something special for you. Something that would make you feel as if you were there with him.

Every day after that you couldn’t stop thinking about it. It was all you could think about. And no matter how hard you tried neither he or the guys were giving up the secret.

Check your mail today :)

He had texted that morning and you could barely get through the day without speeding to the postal office to check your mail. When you were able to, you found yourself carrying a huge box back to your car.

“Goddamn it Calum, what did you send me rocks from every place you visit.” You murmured under your breath as you closed the back door and got into the driver’s seat. Every ounce of will power you had keeping you from opening the box right there and then.

Back at home, after carrying the damned box all the way to your apartment. You barely closed the door behind you when you sat down on the ground and stuck your key in to break away the (large amount of) tape. After getting rid of all the bubble wrap, there was a small envelope saying OPEN FIRST ;)

Hey there baby!

I (with some help of the guys) prepared this for you so you could have a little piece of me while I am away from tour. I know it sucks that you’re not here with me but I promise I tried to put as much in there that would make you feel like you’re here even when you aren’t.

I love you! And I can’t wait to kiss you and hug you and hold you and whisper all the stories into your ear.

You already had tears in your eyes as you folded the letter and set it aside. You instantly began to dig through the contents of the box. There were more small notes, pictures (lots of them), some tour merch… You were surprised to even see some presents fans had given him for you.

You pulled out one of his shirts, his favorite one and held it up to your chest as you caught sight of the purple and pink bear wearing Calum’s cap inside the box. The bear was holding a small note that read ‘Your new cuddle buddy until I get back! ;)’, along with a picture of him holding the bear on top of his head.

You couldn’t believe how much trouble he had gone through to prepare this, to share every single moment of his days with you even if it was weeks later. He wrote down everything that reminded him of you, jokes, funny things. Even that time he fell on stage with a fans picture to prove it.
