Wake up. Prepare the kids. Make breakfast. Get ready. Text Luke. Get the kids to your parents house. Go to work. Get out at 5. Text Luke. Pick up the kids. Prepare dinner. Get the kids ready for bed. Bed time stories. Tuck them in. Good night kisses. Long shower. Call Luke. Finally go to sleep.

Only to start it all over again in the morning. That was your life. All of that on your own while Luke was out there traveling the world and living his dream. You didn't resent him but you were exhausted.

You needed him.

Missed him.

The twins were 3 already and he hadn't been there for all of the important moments in their lives.

They missed him...

You missed him...

You were standing in the kitchen preparing dinner, counting down the minutes until you could go to bed and call Luke. Vent for a while and feel like he was there with you even when he wasn't. When suddenly you heard it. The open and closing of the front door and the unmistakeable "daddy" cry coming in unison from your twins. You froze, your heart beating quickly in your chest as you wiped you hands on a kitchen towel and ran towards the living room.

There they were, already on the floor playfully cuddling each other.

"Mommy, daddy home!" Your boy told you as he came running to pull you towards the floor. Luke flashed you a smile and caught you in his arms as you sat down beside him. The kids following and climbing on top of the two of you. His arms pulled you closer and nuzzled his face in your neck.

"Sorry I couldn't reply to your texts, I was trying to get my bags and a taxi to get home before you did. I guess I failed." He said with a chuckle.

"It's okay, you're here..." You murmured softly before pressing a soft kiss to his lips. He was here and that was all that mattered.
