A new city. A new place. A new town. A new job. A new life. A whole lot of excitement. That's how you could summarize your last year with Michael Clifford. A lot of new and a lot of unexpected.
The two of you were still settling in into your new flat, and as the holidays came closer and closer you kept stressing out about things not being ready on time for both of your families to spend Christmas at your place.
"Come on." Michael said, getting up from the floor and pushing the boxes aside as the two of you sorted out through unmarked boxes.
"Come on where? We still have a lot to do!" You said, taking his hand anyways as he helped you up.
"We need to get out of here and relax for a bit." Michael said before the two of you went for a drive. The point was, that Michael's idea for a drive involved ending up in a Christmas tree farm.
"Seriously, we're going to get our tree? I thought you said we shouldn't until we were all settled in..." You uttered, excitement building up as you watched the rows of trees.
"Well I changed my mind, I think we need a bit of Christmas spirit in the new place." He said with a grin. The two of you spent the next 45 minutes looking and sorting through things before you found the perfect tree.
As soon as the two of you unwrapped the tree and placed it in the perfect spot at home, you just couldn't wait until it looked perfect. You looked through boxes until you found the lights and you spent all night putting it together.
You watched as he wrapped the white twinkling lights around the green branches. You sat on the floor sorting through a few ornaments you had brought from your old place. There wasn't much since you had never owned a tree as big as this one but for the time being it would do.
"Why do we own so many balls?" He asked playfully with a smirk as you collected a few red glass balls to put on the tree.
"Don't you start mister." You warned with a giggle as he followed your lead. Now it was his time to follow instructions and observe you as you did your thing. By the end of it, you were sitting on his shoulders and putting on the last finishing touches to it.
"Take a step back so I can get a better look at it." You said and he did just that, a soft whistle escaping his lips.
"Wow, it looks amazing in my opinion." He said, his words bringing a grin to your lips.
"It finally feels like home babe." You whisper, leaning down to press a kiss to the top of his head.
