It was like any other evening… I came home from work to an empty house. Keys thrown into the bowl, shoes left by the door, coat hung before my naked feet took me towards the kitchen. Brightness coming behind me as I turned on the lights of the house, making it come to life.

The soft sounds of pots and pans began to echo through the empty space as I got ready to prepare dinner.  I poured myself a glass of wine and looked for some music on my phone to start playing when I heard a knock coming from the front door.

I froze in place, and looked towards the window. I wasn’t expecting any company, and nobody came around unannounced at this time.

The insistent knock came again and I left my wine glass forgotten so I could make my way towards the door but as got closer I watch the door handle turning before the door swing open. I felt myself freeze, my legs almost turning to jelly as his eyes met mine.

“I expected a bigger welcome back, love.” Michael murmured as he dropped his bags by the door and closed the door behind him. My eyes filling with tears as I watched him, my mind not truly believing he was here.

He was the one who had to close the space between us, his arms wrapping around my body. His warm lips pressing against my forehead as his scent wrapped around me. It was then that my arms wrapped tightly around him, my face burying against his chest to inhale his musky scent. My body tingling from the thought of him being home.

His hands traveled down the length of my back towards my thighs, picking me up and wrapping my entire body against his before carrying me towards the bedroom. All thoughts of a quite dinner alone long forgotten.

The soft morning light sneaked into the bedroom through the thin curtains, hitting straight to my side of the bed. I rolled to the other side expecting a warm body, but I was only welcomed by the cold feeling from his side. As my eyes fluttered opened, my sight confirmed what I had felt. I had woken up to an empty bed.

I gripped onto the sheets tightly to cover my naked body as I sat up, looking around for him but he wasn’t there. As I stood up, dragging the sheets with me, I felt the silence that surrounded the whole house and wondered if he had left again before my eyes caught a glimpse of the white rose that lay on top of my beauty desk. That hadn’t been there last night.

Despite the silence and the empty bed I could feel his presence there; the soft energy that showed me that he was there but as I scanned the room once again I didn’t see him. I grabbed the rose and brought it close to smell its beautiful scent, my eyes closing as the scent of the flower mixed with the scent of him still left on the sheets.

I placed it back with the rest of my things and headed towards the bathroom for a bath, letting the sheets fall onto the floor before I turned on the water and let the bath running. I moved towards the sink to wash my face, goose bumps rising all over my skin with just the thought of the things we did last night.

I looked in the mirror and saw the love bites he left on my neck and on my chest, my hand softly rising to trace them gently with the tips of my fingers. The familiar shivers ran over my spine, making me miss the delicate touch from his big and warm hands as he explored every inch of my body.

A small smile tugging at the corner of my lips as I made my way back to the bath; I sat down slowly and let the cold water cover my whole body. My eyes closing as the memories of last night began to flow inside my mind.

His warm and big hands and lips traveling all over my body, his kisses poisoning me with every contact his lips made on my lips. I was his pray; and he knew exactly how to torture me with pleasure. He knew how to drive me mad with ecstasy and forget about the world.

I felt his hands remove my bra and the cold from the room making me shiver and miss his heat instantly but merely seconds later he had pushed me down onto the bed and kneeled there exploring my exposed body with eyes full of lust and passion. Eyes full of need and want; every night missed between us mirrored in his eyes.

Without missing a beat his hands began roaming slowly on my legs up to my waist. “Let me hear you scream, let me hear those amazing melodies come out from your mouth.” He had said; his voice wanton and deep as he spoke.

I suddenly jumped in the bath, the sudden warmth of a strong and tall body coming in behind me pulling me from my thoughts. His hands slid over the skin of my waist and pulled me on his lap. My body instantly relaxing and fitting perfectly against his own as my here rested back on his shoulder.

“I thought you left me again.” I murmured softly, my voice hoarse from last night. His lips brushed over the hollow space of my neck, over each one of the love bites he had left there before he spoke.

“I’ll never leave without saying goodbye my love, not after the amazing night we had. Not after the months we’ve spent apart.” He whispered, his lips brushing against my skin as he did. Once again, I felt my whole world fill with peace. I knew one day he would have to pack his bags again and leave. I knew most of the time my world would be empty but he would always come back. I knew that now. No matter how hard it was, we would find a way.
