You had worked on your outfit for this NYE party for months. Everything had to be perfect. The day of the party, you spent hours working on your hair and your makeup. It was worth sacrificing getting a little late to the party for those perfect beachy waves and sea shells. At the end of it all, you felt like a mermaid. Your friend picked up up and you all drove together to the luxurious Hollywood house. The hours before midnight rolled perfect.
"I've heard girls talking about your outfit tonight." One of your friends said as she handed you a glass of champagne. "You're the envy of the night."
"And lets not overlook that sailor on the corner. He can't seem to keep your eyes off of you." Your other friend said with a wink.
You felt your cheeks growing red as your turned to look to the direction they were looking at. Your heart almost stopped as you realized the sailor they were talking about was Michael Clifford.
"Do you guys know who he is?" You whisper yelled, feeling extremely nervous.
"Mhmm honey. Don't freak but he's coming your way." Your friend said.
"Get that New Years kiss." The other one said with a wink. You almost panicked but he was there standing next to you, a shy smile on his face.
"Sorry if this is a bit creeper, but I've been watching you all night." He said, extending his hand towards you. "I'm Michael."
"I know." You said with a chuckle before introducing yourself. It surprised you how easily the conversation rolled between the two of you.
"Ten!" You heard the people begin to chant as the count down began. You looked around yourself but couldn't help but notice Michael coming in closer to you.
"Six!" The sounds around you were becoming muffled as his hands rested on your hips, his smile only growing.
"Four!" Your bodies pressing together.
"Three." He whispered.
"Two." You said, as he began to lean in.
"One..." He murmured, lips brushing against yours and suddenly the two of you were kissing. The sounds of the new year celebration resounding around the two of you.
