There are a lot of things you would do for love; a lot of stupid things. People may call you naive, they may call you young and dumb, and they may say its only lust or hormones.

Meeting Luke this summer had that same reaction from everyone around you but the truth was there was nothing you wouldn't do for him and to keep your relationship alive. Everything happened in flashes, heated moments between the two of you.

He left you breathless.

He made you feel alive.

And that was the thing about love; it was the best thing about being alive.

As you watched Luke get dressed at the foot of your bed, you found yourself smiling because even though everyone will go all out to pretend they knew the both of you and what went on in your relationship, you and him knew the truth.

And Luke made sure to prove it every single day; with a brush of a hand or the taste of his lips. You knew it would last and you knew it was real. Because there was nothing the both wouldn't do to keep whatever you guys had between you alive.

“Are you sure you have to go?” You asked softly as you gathered the sheets and gripped them tightly to your chest in order to conceal your topless body. Not from him but from the cool air in the bedroom that made your skin crawl with goose bumps. You already missed the warmth he brought from having his arms wrapped around you.

“Can’t skip on rehearsals again this week, they might actually hunt me down and drag me there themselves.” He said with an apologetic smile as he looked your way; his long and lean body sitting at the foot of the bed so he could slip his shoes on.

You watched him in silence for a few moments longer, enjoying the way his muscles flexed underneath the thin layer of his t-shirt or the way he would hold his lip ring between his teeth for a few seconds before releasing it.

Memories of the cool piece of jewelry made your stomach tighten and a shiver to run down your spine. He must have felt your slight movement because he looked your way, eyebrow raised in a knowing gesture.

You felt the corners of your mouth tugging into a small smile before you crawled his way, running your hands over his shoulders as you wrapped your arms around his body. The smile growing at the way his body shivered when you pressed the gentle kiss underneath the hollow of his ear.

“Babe…” he breathed the soft warning, his earlier actions completely halted as you peeked over his shoulder towards the side of his face.

“What?” You asked, feigning innocence and confusion towards his small warning. You knew exactly what you were doing. You had managed to distract him long enough to make him forget about anything he actually had to do throughout the day.

“Don’t play innocent with me.” He said with a chuckle as he moved in your arms, kneeling down in front of you on the bed. His warm hands traced over your hips before they rested in the small of your back, pressing your chest to his.

“Who said I was playing?” You rolled the words teasingly over your tongue, your teeth taking a hold of your bottom lip between them as you looked at him through your eyelashes.

“I really can’t stay today.” He reminded you out loud, or maybe he was trying to convince himself of the power those words should have had for the two of you.

“I never said you had to stay.” You reminded him yourself. Your smirk turned into laughter when you heard his groan and felt him pull away from you, grabbing his jacket from the armchair.

“One of these days you will be the death of me, woman.” He said, running his hands through his hair in frustration as he watched you with hungry blue eyes as you sat down again on the bed.

“Hopefully, not any day soon; I’m not quite done with you Luke.” You said with another chuckle as you grabbed one of his discarded shirts and slipped it over your body. His scent instantly wrapping around you, better than any warm blanket ever could.

“Don’t worry, love. I’ll be home before you have any real chance to miss me.” He assured you, his lips brushing yours to seal the promise. His lips lingering for a second longer than they should of, probably still debating if he was truly needed at rehearsals. But his hesitation didn’t last more than a few seconds because just like that he was on his way.
