Prologue

Jenn watched as her beautiful daughter, Lauren, started walking for the first time.

"Alex! Lauren's walking!" She called her husband over. He came up with a bright smile on his face, watching his adorable little daughter take her first few steps before crashing down to her butt again. Lauren giggled her cheery baby giggle and clapped her hands along with her parents.

Alex came up behind her and put his pointer fingers out for her to grab, which she did, and he pulled her up to her feet. He guided her towards Jenn in which she wrapped her arms around her baby girl and kissed her cheek.

"Alex, today's your daughters first day of preschool. Are you not going to see her off?" Jenn asked her husband who has started becoming more distant.

"I can't, I have to go to a meeting." His excuse was and he walked out the door without giving Jenn a goodbye kiss or Lauren one. Jenn sighed and took her clueless daughter to her first day of preschool.

Lauren was now six and became more talkative due to her vocabulary expansion. Her mother was picking her up from the school daycare and Lauren was telling her day to Jenn.

Jenn was enjoying her daughters cheery behavior in exception to what's happening at home. Alex was really distant now, starting to only verbally abuse Jenn instead of just talking to her.

As enjoyment fluttered around in the car that ended when a car came crashing into theirs, killing Jenn.

The older Lauren got, the more she became depressed because of her fathers abuse and the verbal abuse at school, making fun of the scars on her wrists and the bruises her dad caused.

She barely ever talked now.

Who knew this would happen?
