"May retdem 'nanaman?"

First semester namin ngayon ng fourth year nursing. Graduating na kami at as far as I know, puro skills based ngayong year, duties sa hospital.

Retdem stands for 'Return Demonstration'. In nursing, we do this after we discuss a specific type of lesson and majority dito is mga skills. Let's say proper handwashing, after siya madiscuss magkakaroon kami ng retdem na nagpapakita na ginagawa iyon. We also have our 'CA'. Also known as the clinical instructor, sila yung mga titingin ng performance mo sa retdem. Minsan ay mapapagsabihan kapa at mali mali pa ginagawa mo though it's normal, lahat naman nagkakamali at natututo.

Akala ko, deretso duty na agad sa hospital pero may retdem nanaman daw sabi ni Doc Juarez. Doc Juarez is one of the best doctors here in Manila. He's one of the good dermatologist din.

"Injection kayo." 

Fuck! ito 'nanaman.

In injection, there are three main types of it. Una ang subcutaneous injection, pinapasok ito under the skin, usually short needles ang gamit. Pangalawa ang intravenous, pinapasok ito sa may ugat, this is one of the fastest way para mapasukan ng drug ang katawan. Lastly, which is the third one, Intramascular. God! ang sakit sakit nito kasi straight forward ang angle tapos napakalalim, directly to the muscle. This allows the medication to be absorb by the bloodstreams.

"By partners tayo, so I will be the one who will choose your partners." Kinuha ni Sir ang record book at tinignan ito. "Start tayo sa huli."

"Vasquez and Tranez."

What?! Si Tranez?! 

My eyes furrowed when Doc Juarez announced my name with my partner. Ayoko sa lalaking ito! napaka ingay, my patience says no. Baka ang ending, masaksak ko siya nung injection. 

Nakita ko si Jhed na titig na titig saakin, tumatawa. Ano naman nakakatawa sa itsura ko? sarap sampalin eh! 

He's one of the noisy guys here in school at sikat din siya dahil volleyball player at varsity pa. May itsura naman siya, Shaggy hair, matangos ilong, medyo maputi pero kita pa rin ang pagkamoreno, fit ang katawan at matangkad. Probably 5'11. Madami ding may crush sakanya dito.

Nang matapos si Doc Juarez mag bigay ng partners ay pinapunta na kami sa kanya kanyang partners at nagpractice dahil bukas pa naman ang retdem kaya may time pa.

"Hi" Supladang bati ko at pinagkrus ko pa ang braso ko habang lumapit siya saakin.

"Hello." Natatawang sabi niya at humagikgik pa sabay tinakpan ang bibig. "Bad days kaba po? baka kailangan mo ng gamot? yung imbis na magalit ka pero kinilig ka." Pang aasar niya.
