"You like him. You wanna fuck him too." April teased playfully as we walked down the aisle in the grocery store.
We stopped in front of the flour and sugar so we could grab some and put it inside of our respective carts.
"You're childish as hell." I laughed.
"So you mean to tell me he just went over there for no reason?" She questioned, tilting her head to the side.
I shrugged. "He wanted to return my necklace but we ended up talking for a good ten minutes. Everything isn't about sex, April."
I grabbed a couple of seasonings off of the seasoning shelf and put them inside of my cart, as well.
"You need some more seasonings too?" I stopped and asked before going back to pushing my cart.
"Yeah." She nodded.
I grabbed some seasonings that I knew she'd need and sat them in her cart.
"Y'all were probably in there flirting and shit. You know damn well that man is fine and you wanna fuck him. We're grown now. A little safe sex never hurt nobody."
I tucked my bottom lip in, trying to hide my smile.
she wasn't wrong tho. Ari looks like a sex god so it probably wouldn't be bad.
"Look at you tryna hide your lil' smile."
"Shut up yo. You're reaching." I chuckled, still trying to hide my little smile after the fact.
"I saw y'all talking at the club the other night, too. Y'all was giggling and smiling and shit."
"So? You were laughing and giggling with your man too." I pointed out.
April turned and gave me a bitch please look. "Yeah, my man."
I laughed it off and continued pushing my cart. After we finished getting the rest of our groceries we went in line so we could pay.
The store was packed today so most of the lines were long.
It was a Saturday though so it's expected.
My face was in my phone when I had heard April's voice call out a familiar name.
Ari.
I looked up from my phone and turned around seeing Ari standing right behind April. He was dressed in a simple hoodie and a pair of sweatpants.
"Hey, April."
"Hey, Ari. Simone's right there in front of me." She quickly made sure to point out, putting the attention on me.
In his hand, he held a basket filled with various snacks. He had his hair in its signature man bun too.
He made eye contact with me and grinned. "Hey, Simone."
Damn his eyes are so pretty. I'm just now noticing, too?
His eyes were a normal shade of brown, and his natural thick lashes were what made them so pretty to me.
"Hey, Ari." I smile. "What are you doing here?"
Grocery shopping. Duh Simone. Let's not act dumb.
He chuckled, running his eyes over my body. I began to feel a little self-conscious which was unusual for
me.The one time I decided to go out looking bummy and Ari shows up.
"You know what I forgot to get some bread. I'll be right back." April excused herself before I could say anything. She walked off into a random aisle that didn't even have bread.
"You look good." He subtly licked his bottom lip continuing to eye me.
"Thank you." My smile grows wider. "You too."
I notice that he keeps turning around to look for someone and my brows furrow in confusion.
see now you're doing too much. cause who you looking for?
My face fell flat as I asked, "are you looking for someone?"
He looked over at me again. "Just my sister."
oh okay. yeah okay like i thought
I nodded, understanding.
I let out a sigh of relief. I don't even know if this man is in a relationship or not so let me relax.
I looked in the direction he was looking in and saw a brunette-haired woman standing with a man next to the entrance.
"I gotta go, pretty." He looks over his shoulder. "I'll call you though." He quickly rushes off in the direction of the brunette-haired woman.
with what fawking numberrr ???
It felt like butterflies were in my stomach when he called me the nickname he had given me. It oddly grew on me.
Just as he was leaving April was coming back over with no bread.
"What was that for?" She asked, referring to him rushing off.
"He said something about his sister. I don't remember."
I was too busy fawning over the fact that he called me pretty even though he always calls me that.
"Mm-Hmm. Y'all was probably over here talking about some freaky shit."
"Go headdd." I playfully roll my eyes, continuing to place our items on the conveyor belt.
