It was Monday once again and Yunho was on his way to school. This time from his dad's house. Because it was pretty far, his dad offered to drive him. They both got into the car. Yunho looked out the window, hoping to avoid any small talk."I think you should come over more often, Yunho. We never really get to talk." His dad commented.
Yunho scoffed but said nothing.
"You make Gunho really happy. It's a shame you chose to leave him." His dad continued. "School isn't an excuse. You shouldn't leave your family. Don't you agree?"
"Do I agree?" Yunho huffed, "you shouldn't hit your wife. You shouldn't yell at your kids. Don't talk to me. I only came to see my brother."
"You sound just like your mother. It's almost disgusting." His dad shook his head in disappointment.
Yunho let out a shaky sigh as a tear ran down his cheek.
"Are you crying right now? That's all you do. What are you? A girl in a mans body?" His dad scoffed.
Yunho tried his best to ignore his fathers words, but it was really hard. His dad was right that Yunho was very sensitive, but why did it make him any less of a man?
They made it to the school and Yunho got out of the car as soon as they parked. He didn't look back despite his father's various attempts to say goodbye.
He walked into the building with his head down.
"Yunho!" Jongho called. He quickly realized that Yunho looked up set.
Yunho walked straight to the bathroom to pull himself together. Jongho followed after worriedly.
"Yunho, are you okay?" Jongho asked, seeing the red tent in Yunho's eyes.
"I'm fine.. It's just my dad.." Yunho replied. Jongho understood his dad always bothered him.
"Oh.. I'm sorry Yunho." Jongho looked down.
"Damn that old man. I hope he dies on the way home." Yunho cursed and started to clean his face.
Jongho frowned. Suddenly the bell rang. "We need to get to class, Yunho."
"You go ahead. Don't worry about me." Yunho said. "I'll get to class on time."
Jongho nodded and left.
Yunho waited in the bathroom until he was ready. He walked into class with his head down. Everyone looked at him. He was definitely a good 20 minutes late. "Sorry I'm late." He apologized to the teacher and took his seat.
He felt all the stares in the room. He felt so embarrassed.
"At least you showed up I suppose." The teacher said with annoyance.
Lunch came pretty quickly. Everyone rushed out the room. Yunho stayed in his seat for a bit. He couldn't stop thinking of how much he hated his dad. Suddenly he felt a tap on his shoulder.
"What?" He said pushing the hand away. He looked up and noticed it was Seonghwa. "Seonghwa.."
"Sorry if I'm bothering you." Seonghwa began to say, "I just thought you looked a bit down today. I saw you walk in.. is everything okay?" He asked seeming very sincere.
Yunho was surprised Seonghwa cared. He didn't seem like that type of person. "It's just family stuff.." Yunho mumbled.
"Oh no.. I'm sorry. If you need anything or just want to talk, I'm here. Okay?" Seonghwa said with a caring smile.
Yunho suddenly felt a safe feeling when Seonghwa smiled at him. He never really had someone other than his mom that he felt safe with. Jongho was a great friend, but even he didn't know how to comfort his hyung during things like this.
Yunho nodded, "If you don't mind listening." He really did need someone understanding in his life. Especially now.
"How about we talk over lunch?" Seonghwa suggested.
Yunho nodded and with that they both went to the lunch room. They got their food and went to an empty table.
"You don't have to tell me everything. Just what you feel comfortable saying." Seonghwa said sweetly.
Yunho nodded, "well starting from the beginning is too complicated. I'm mainly upset because of my dad. He hates me.. because he thinks I'm not manly enough, or something like that. He would hurt my mom because of me.." he began to explain, but stopped as he felt a knot in his throat.
"Oh my." Seonghwa gasped.
Yunho bit his lip and sighed. "My parents moved away from each other. I live with my mom and my brother lives with my dad." He explained. "Now he's practically turned my brother against me."
His hand began to shake, and tears filled his eyes as the memories came back.
"I'm so sorry Yunho." Seonghwa got up from his seat and hugged Yunho tightly.
As soon as Seonghwa hugged him, Yunho began to cry. "S-sorry..." he said through his quiet sobs.
"Shhh don't apologize for crying. You're going through a lot. It's okay to cry." Seonghwa assured him as he gently rubbed his back, letting Yunho cry on his chest.
After lunch Yunho cleaned his face again in the bathroom. He looked in the mirror, 'where's Hongjoong been all day?' He wondered. When suddenly the door opened. Yunho looked and his heart dropped. It was Mingi. Yunho quickly turned and looked away, so Mingi couldn't see he was crying.
"Hey." Mingi said with a smile.
"Uhh hey." He said quickly before cleaning up and leaving.
'Did you really just run Yunho? That's embarrassing. He was really just tryna be nice too.' Yunho thought to himself, hitting himself in the head repeatedly.
After class, Yunho was walking down the hall about to leave school. He felt eyes watching him. He quickly turned to see Mingi walking behind him. He blushed and looked away.
"Uh hey, Yunho." He heard Mingi say.
Yunho quickly stopped. Mingi just said his name. A shy "Yeah..?" was all he could say.
"I don't think I got to properly get to know you." Mingi started. "You're pretty cool we should talk more."
Yunho blushed harder and fidgeted with his fingers. "Oh yeah you seem cool too. We should." He stuttered.
Mingi smiled at Yunho's cuteness. Before he could continue, Yunho saw Seonghwa walk past.
"I have to go!" Yunho said quickly. "Sorry. Let's talk another time." He quickly walked off after Seonghwa.
Mingi frowned in confusion. 'Why is he so shy to talk to me? Am I scary looking? Does he not like me?'
"Seonghwa hyung." Yunho said before catching up with seonghwa.
"Yes? Yunho?" Seonghwa responded.
"I need to ask you something. Or I want to.." Yunho said.
Seonghwa nodded and smiled, "what's up?"
"It's about your crush."
