I came back home later that night I was glad to not be in New York it never felt like home and it just brought up bad feelings bad memories that I try so hard to forget

I walked thru the door seeing Carlos immediately noticing me

" hey look who's home !" He said wrapping his arms around me kissing me on the lips before Maddie came running over

"Daddy !" She yelled as I lifted her up

"Hey bub I missed you !" I said kissing her on the head

" I missed you to can you read me a bedtime story ?" She asked

" yeah sure one second ." I said looking over at Carlos

" wheres el ?" I asked looking around

" in their room she came home upset Earlier wouldn't talk to me about it ." He said

" I'll be back okay Imma check in el ." I said kissing Carlos in the cheek

" and you missy go get ready for bed and I'll read you two a bedtime story ."

" yay ." She smiled

I knocked on their door

"El it's daddy can I come in ?" I asked softly

"Yeah I guess ."she said sad

"Whatcha doing bug ?" I asked sitting next to her on her bed

"Coloring ." She mumbled

" you gotta teach me out to do that properly." I said

" bug I heard somethings bothering you .."

"Papa told you that didn't he."

" he only said that you didn't tell him anything and that you were upstairs I asked. " I said rubbing her tears off her eyes

"A kid in my called my project ugly ...." She said

"The solar system one ?" I asked rubbing her back

"He said it was babyish because i drew smiley faces on the planets ."

"El I loved that project ." I said stroking her hair

"Look bug the kid is mean so don't listen to them alright I saw how much work you put into that project ."?o said kissing her head

"Thanks daddy ." She said

"Always ."

" how was the wedding ." She said looking up at me

" not the best I much had rather been home with you guys so I could help you finish your project and get covered in glitter ." I laughed

" I missed you ." She said

"I missed you more." I smiled

"Can I come in ?" Maddie peaked

" get in here ." I laughed moving over so she could sit on the bed

"You guys want a chapter of charlottes web tonight ."

" yes please ." The smiled

" alright ." I said

After I read a chapter to them I quietly got up placing a kiss on each of their foreheads before leaving the room

I came in seeing Carlos laying on the bed

"You didn't have to wait up you know ?" I smiled

"I wanted to talk about your trip how was it ?" He asked as I later down facing him

"Wished I stayed here kinda ." I said pushing his curls out of his face

"Sorry ." Carlos said

" no it's not your fault I got to see my mom so I guess that was good ." I said as he held our hands together

"How are you doing with your dad ?" I asked

"Alright I glad he's out if my life forever ."

"Yeah I'm always here to talk tho whatever you need ." I said kissing his head

"T can u ask you a honest question?"

" always .." I said

" are your panic attacks getting worse ...?"

"no im okay ." I faked a smile kissing his hand

"now can i get thoose cuddles i was promised ?"
